- Sleep Medicine
A sleep medicine specialist is specially trained in diagnosing and treating disorders involving sleep.
Sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and insomnia are very common and can often cause other serious health issues, such as depression, asthma, and migraines. Sleep medicine specialists often work in sleep centers where they observe a patient while sleeping and monitor brain waves, behavior, and vital signs in order to identify the causes of sleep disturbance, or an inability to sleep (insomnia).
Sleep medicine specialists treat patients through advising on sleep hygiene, providing cognitive behavioral therapy, using light therapy, or medical sleep aides.
A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.
A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.

Dr . Haller came into my hospital room after I had a fall in a Public Place, hitting my head, and a stroke the next day.. Initially, I could not walk, talk, or swallow and MRI confirmed I had a stroke. The first day I was there, she came into my room and introduced herself. She said in a very hostile tone of voice something like: "I have read your little story about falling in the Verizon office because of a faulty high stool, and that's not what happened" My son was there and I verified with him after she left that she had basically called me a liar, and sounded like she was accusing me of something.. She Said there was nothing wrong with the stool, that I lost my balance due to a stroke, and probably had a bigger one the next day. I don't know if she thought I was trying to make a Claim against Verizon for negligence or what, but they had Premises Medical Coverage covering medical expenses for any one who fell on their Premises, did not have to be any liability or negligence on there part.. After I spent two weeks in hospital and two weeks in a Rehab. facility, I was given instructions to follow up with "my" neurologist.. I didn't like her and didn't want her to be my neurologist, but they assured me when I called that she would not be seeing me, but I would be seen by a Nurse Practitioner. She wasn't there when I went for my first appointment, and I have not seen her, nor do I want to, since that first short "visit" my first day in the hospital. She talked to me like it was my fault that I fell, and was very condescending. I still wonder what was her problem, as I never saw her before that, she was a total stranger to me. I was unable to defend myself that day, and still think she owes me an apology
This doctor is so unprofessional. She yells at you & makes you feel stupid when you tell her your opinions about your own symptoms/body (she literally yelled at me for quitting migraine medication without her "permission" even though I was having extremely BAD side effects). She is condescending & think she knows more than anyone else. Doctors need to listen to their patients just as much as we need to listen to them. Finding solutions should be a collaboration between patient/doctor to see what works the best, and patients should never be treated like they are stupid or inferior.
I have been in and out of hospitals and doctors offices since I was 7 years old and I am now 37. Dr. Haller was the most unprofessional worst bedside manner, rudest Dr. I have ever met. Dr. Holler would barely let me finish, she would interrupt,Very rude tone and demeanor. She does not withhold the oath you swore to. I have never walked out of the doctor's office in my life until meeting dr. Holler. Stay away! There's better treatment elsewhere.
