Dr. Basel Said Hassoun, MD

I had a test done and I still have not heard any thing from the doctor about the results. I had the C T Scan I had a CT Scan done in Elk City and Dr. Hassoun was suppose to let me know if if I needed to be seen . I usually have the test at Mercy but he said that the test could be closer to my home. I feel that he or his nurse would contact my daughter-in-law or leave a message or an e mail as I can not talk on the phone to let me know the results. I still gave him 5 stars because I don’t know if this was as an oversight of not calling because the news was good .

The Doctor didn't explain the procedure very well or why it was taking so long to recover. He just ended the visit and walked out. He seemed rushed and did not want to spend time with me. The Doctor did not listen or answer my questions.

Best urologist in the nation, very knowledgeable, smart, listens and calms fears and worries. I had been seeing him for 15 years and he is is wonderful.

I first met Dr. Hassoun in the holding area for urgent surgery. I had been transferred b ambulance from the ER of a suburban hospital to the Mercy "Mother Ship" ER. I spent most of the night in the ER having tests, IV hydration, PICC line inserted - all preparations for surgery. He introduced himself as "The Plumber", which I found accurate and amusing. He described what he planned to do in the surgery, and assurred me that all would be under control and I would be kept comfortable (I had had relentless vomiting and pain for a few days). Visits with him post-op and in his office were always friendly, educational, kind, and patient as if he had all the time in the world. I highly recommend this physician to anyone needing help with a "plumbing" problem.

Our family will NEVER use this doctor again!!! I had a elevated PSA test and went to him for consult. Had to do a biopsy and was told "when I know the results, you will know!" LONG story short, no one ever called and we finally contacted his office to get results. we made an appointment and finally heard the good news...no cancer! The doctor himself stated he was sending the biopsy results to our PCP but never did. Our doctor's office called and requested the results, My wife called and requested it to be sent to me personally, another doctor interested in results called and each time the staff stated they would send it...but NEVER did! They NEVER returned our calls! This was a daily issue for 2 weeks! I certainly hope this is the staff to blame, and not the doctor. If this is how he likes his office run, he will not be in business long!

I like Dr Hassoun as did my family. My Daughter is an RN in emergency Medicine and she was very impressed with the time he took with us. He has placed a second stint now and I may be headed for a third. Because of Kidney issues he has been unable to do certain tests. I would highly recommend this physician.

I was in open heart surgery when my blood pressure fell to life threatening levels. Dr. Randolph called in, on Sunday, Urology specialist Surgeon, Dr. Basel S. Hassoun. He got my urine flow straightened out me out of danger. Great bedside manner on follow up and good sense of humor.

Waited 1.5 hours in the waiting room on my most recent appt, 1 hour the time before and then another hour in a room waiting to see the doctor. Long list of issues: Office mixed up why I was there, they started to put a stint in before I freaked out, apparently they had the wrong # in my file. Staff was also supposed to contact another doctor to get MRI scan and they 'forgot' so had to wait around for them to do so before I could see the doctor. Old school computers, wouldn't be surprised if they misplaced a receipt and claimed someone didn't pay. Office is also dirty, one of the patient rooms has a closet FULL of old boxes/supplies, doesn't feel very hygienic. A perscription was called in for me and when I picked it up it was for a different dosage & another medicine that was never explained to me, office staff said 'we don't know, it should be fine to take...'. Doctor is nice, hard to understand his accent sometimes. All in all my needs were taken care of but wouldn't refer a… friend.

Been his patient for over 10 years due to a spinal cord injury. Always been awesome even though he sees a lot of patients. Cutting edge knowledge with common sense, would recommend.
