Dr. Christine Joselin Leehealey, MD

I saw Dr. Christine Leehealey for concerns related to possible inflammatory/autoimmune muscle disease. I had ongoing symptoms affecting my daily functioning, along with abnormal findings that I felt needed a thorough explanation and follow-up plan, including elevated CK, PL-7 antibody positivity/low positivity, and a femur MRI that described patchy intramuscular edema and stated it may reflect inflammatory myositis. My concern is that after my muscle biopsy came back negative, I felt my case was essentially dismissed instead of having the abnormal MRI, labs, symptoms, and next steps clearly explained. I understand that a negative biopsy is important, but I also expected a more complete discussion about why my other abnormal findings were present, whether additional testing or repeat evaluation was needed, and how my care would be coordinated with neuromuscular specialists. I also had repeated issues with the office/records process, including problems with labs, CT scan records, and… paperwork not being handled clearly. This added to my stress and made it harder to feel confident that my case was being reviewed carefully. Overall, I left feeling unheard and without a clear plan, despite having symptoms and test results that were concerning to me. I am sharing this so other patients with complex autoimmune or neuromuscular concerns know to advocate strongly, bring copies of all records, ask direct questions, and consider getting another opinion if they feel their symptoms are not being fully addressed.

The best specialist Dr. I have ever had. I have had fibromyalgia for over 20 yrs but almost overnight became imobile from chronic osteoarthritis which had been just under my pain threshold for many years. I have allergic reactions to several meds & she works with me so tirelessly. She works WITH you & not ON you. Staff great too.

My first visit with Dr. Leehealey appeared to be positive. However, after that I felt she wasn't sure what I was going through. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. When complaining of other pain she would say that something else was going on but never had me tested for it. I started to feel unsure about her. Blood work lab tests were never received, utilizing the website portal was not successful. I complaint to her and her assistant about it, lot of times. The website always said it was "pending." Felt she didn't want to be disturb with questions until my doctor appointed with her. She could be rude and cold at times. She is knowable but book smarts. I'm 63 years old. Having RA has been a hardship in my life. If anything, seniors should not be treated this way. Do not recommend Dr. Leehealey.
