Dr. Danton S Dungy, MD

The doctor's reviews are great but he really really need a new office manager. His website says the office hours are 7:30AM - 5PM but don't call before 8:15AM because they don't answer the phone till then!! I HOPE that's not the doctor's decision but ???

Dr. Dungy is a good doctor but his office practice leaves a lot to be desired. Almost every time you go there, they make you fill you out several pages of information and half the questions are repeated. They want you to fill out the same information the next time you go there saying that it is "updating" your information. I tell them that everything is the same and nothing has changed but that's not good enough. They make you spend fifteen minutes re-entering the same information they already have. A waste of time and paper. If you don't fill it out again, Dr. Dungy won't see you and they want to reschedule you. I refuse to waste my time doing the same paperwork over and over when nothing has changed. So...I'll find another doctor. I don't want to waste his time and he shouldn't want to waste mine.

I just want to say how grateful I am that I found Dr. Dungy and his wonderful staff before getting both knees replaced last fall. Over the years I had seen two different surgeons, they were not bad doctor's they just didn't seem to care to be bothered with my questions or concerns. I just kept putting surgery off to the point that I could barley walk. A coworker begged me to see Dr. Dungy, so glad I did. My first visit was so relaxed, friendly and informative. The doctor took the time to really talk to me, I liked him right off the bat, I could tell he was not only a wonderful doctor but a fantastic human being. Had first knee done and was up walking as soon as I got out of recovery. Had heard horror stories from people about how painful replacement was. The doc knows his stuff cause it wasn't near as bad as I feared and I couldn't wait for the next one in 5 weeks. Five weeks after second knee I was back to work at a fairly physical job. You changed my life, thank you. I also want to… thank his PA Tina. She is an awesome lady and helped me get through it all. They are super heroes in scrubs.

Knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and genuinely caring. I am very happy with my my knee reconstruction surgery results. Has made me feel at ease from consultation through post op appointments. I strongly recommend him and his staff.

I came to Dr Dungy with a trashed knee and a BMI around 40. About a week later I had a new knee. I am going to continue to lose weight and make this new knee last. The Dr is kind, smart, no nonsense. I am very happy with my experience.

He replaced 2 hips and 1 knee. Excellant results - no problems

I have been a patient of Dr Dungy's for many years, as I have many congenital orthopedic issues. We have a very collaborative working relationship, which I can't say that I've had with most of the many doctors in my life. He LISTENS to me and is never dismissive. Smart guy, but I still can't convince him to offer coffee and doughnuts in the waiting room...

Dr. Dungy is honest and friendly but that's not what your there for. He will NOT do surgery on you if you are overweight. Look around his waiting room. He will refer you to a dietician. This is all very nice but if you are bone on bone and you will have to just keep suffering until you get thin enough for him to operate on you. My pain will not let me wait so, even though he is the best I will be going to San Diego to have my surgery done by a surgeon that has requested a full and thorough pre-op physical and found that though I am overweight and losing I am in good health.

My operation went excellent, a few weeks after I noticed what seemed like a piece of nylon fishing string sticking out of the scar. When I went in the PA and Dr. Dungy both said that it was a stich below the surface and it should disolve. I went in twice more and it was still there. He then said he would see me in a year. A week or so later I noticed something oozing from the scar. It was blood and puss. I called for another appointment and was seen right away. I saw the PA, she said it appeared that it had festered and broke open. She cleaned it up and saw me a week later and said it was fine, she did not check to see if the stich was gone or not. A few days later I noticed the Stitch still sticking out. I constantly is pricking me and is sometimes uncomfortable. Today there was puss oozing from the scar. I will call again tomorrow to see if they will take care of it. 3 1/2 months after operation.
