Dr. David M Davis has the following 2 specialties
A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.
A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.

Dr. Davis is AWESOME. After going to three other doctors, he was the first to realize that I was struggling with post-partum depression, coupled with my already diagnosed peri-menopause. Add those together and it's a MESS. Trust me. He is prompt, friendly, honest, warm, compassionate, professional, kind, cheerful and easy to talk to. He pulled me out of the dark pit I was in and found the right medication to help. He is clearly knowledgeable and has a wealth of experience and expertise. I trust him and would recommend him to EVERYONE. Take a chance; it will help and you will feel better. I am finally myself again, after more than two years of awful depression. He probably saved my marriage and me as well. I cannot say enough good things about him; he really helps people. Barbara, his receptionist, is also warm & friendly. Great office! :) A pleasure to go there.
After struggling with mild depression and anxious feelings for a while, I felt like I was destine to feel trapped with these emotions for the rest of my life. Going to a therapist was terrifying to me, especially since I had a bad experience with a therapist years ago when I had tried to give therapy a chance. After making my appointment I was counting down the days with dread thinking about going in for the first time, and contemplated canceling my appointment even up to the point of when I was pulling into the parking lot. Not sure what I was so terrified of, but luckily my first meeting with Dr. Davis dispelled all of my fears about seeing a therapist. He has a very straight forward and open approach that made it very easy for me to open up way more than I expected would be possible in a first meeting. By our second session I felt like he already had a good gauge of my personality and how to best interact with me. While kindness and feelings of acceptance are very important for me to feel safe to open up, I felt like he also understand that beyond that I did not want to be coddled. With the help of his frank observations and questioning that challenged my perceptions I began to notice positive changes in the way I saw myself and my life beginning with our first full session. I also really like that each time I saw him he gave me "homework" and offered suggestions for other things to do outside of his office to continue my progress (books, therapy devices, etc). It was very clear from the beginning that Dr. Davis is more interested in helping people to heal and move forward in their lives rather than creating a dependency on a therapist. After a month of sessions we incorporated the use of medication. Using data from brain mapping and genetic testing, he was able to select the most appropriate medication for me. I am so happy that he didn't use a "trial and error" approach that is used by most practitioners. Starting with a low dose, the first medication he prescribed was very effective and I was able to stay on the low dose which meant less side effects while still getting the results I was hoping for. I feel like I have been given a new lease on life, no longer fearful of a bleak destine. Activities that I had become numb to, completing in a robotic way out of obligation, now have meaning and purpose again. I have a new sense of calmness and a feeling of being present in the moment which has greatly increased my satisfaction in work and in my interactions socially. My husband and I are both very grateful for the positive change Dr. Davis has made in our lives. I would confidently refer any of my friends or family members to him.
Dr. Davis is the best psychiatrist I have been to. He is extremely knowledgeable and caring. After years of trying to find the right medication, Dr. Davis was the only doctor who could help me find the right one. His office is comfortable and scheduling appointments is a breeze. I highly recommend Dr. Davis.
Dr. Davis has been integral to promoting success both internally and externally in my life. What an explicit difference I have seen from the person I was before I met him and the person I am only six months later! When I met Dr. Davis, I had already been through treatment centers, therapists, and psychiatrists; I thought I had learned every tool of DBT, CBT, attachments etc. available. How wrong I was! Dr. Davis is an insanely bright, straightforward and logical voice of reason. He simplifies, pinpoints and expedites the process of self-awareness, eliminating behavioral and decision making patterns that cause turmoil and roadblocks in your mind, relationships, and life. Before Dr. Davis I was in a constant state of fear and anxiety with a complete lack of motivation to start my life over one more time. I had overcome many obstacles in previous years but was still emotionally suffering from them. I had no belief that my life could be anything other than a cycle of hurt and was exhausted trying believe otherwise. I was afraid of everything – I had no cell phone, lived at home, and was complacent to continue down that road until Dr. Davis showed me how out-of-touch I was in my thinking and my impossible plan to protect and incubate myself from life. Now, we frequently laugh about the beliefs I let dictate my life - how far removed I had become from reality operating for almost two years as a millennial without a cell phone. Everything clicked when he said “just because you get in a car accident, doesn’t mean you never get in a car again.” Over and over again his honest and frank reasoning is just simply impossible to argue against - it generates humor, opens new doors for my mind and makes perfect sense. The reality behind everything we discuss is so helpful for a person like myself who is curious and consonantly trying to figure out why everything is the way it is, including myself. Some things simply cannot be figured out and should be left alone. Others take time, need practice, or different experiences to integrate into the daily thought process. Just recognizing this is key for me. He has helped me put people’s opinions into suggestions instead of facts. Now I live on my own, have a job and cell phone, and even started practicing martial arts, something I never thought I would try or much less stick with! But more so than what my life looks like to everyone else, on the inside it is remarkable the positivity he has restored within me, the sense of humor I can see in the beliefs that trap me from moving forward, and the way I have realigned the way I process the world to improve the results. It is so comforting knowing regardless of what else life brings, I have a new and realistic perspective to ground me, as well as a person that will always remind me when I forget! I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Davis to anyone seeking growth and knowledge in their life. I love that he challenges me in very tough but very rewarding ways. Dr. Davis reinvented, broke and broadened the parameters I put on my mind and the possibilities for my life. It is a treat to be able to discuss deep ideas and meanings with someone so astute!
Dr. Davis is not only a skilled professional but he clearly cares about his patients and their well being. I have struggled and have been misdiagnosed for 20 years. After my first appointment I left with clarity, hope and a plan. Over the next several months Dr. Davis was not only able to switch me to the appropriate medications that made a huge difference but also equip me through therapy sessions to handle life is a way that was applicable to me. I have never felt more in control of my emotions, life and we'll being than after seeing Dr. Davis. I highly recommend him if you are ready for a change, willing to put in the effort and want a no nonsense highly trained doctor who gresults.
