Brilliant pschopharmacology - knowledgeable, up t date, subtle and intuitive. Remarkably combined with skilled, gentle, humorous talk therapy. A gem.

I put 5 min. wait time because there was no option to put ZERO minutes wait time. You can count on Dr. Sternbach for many things and being on time is one of them. He is a REAL doctor, totally honest (too bad we have to say a doctor is honest in these times). He is really skilled with psycho pharmacology and that I think is his main work. Psychotherapists and other psychiatrists refer him when you need meds beyond what their skill/knowledge is. He is very busy but if he can see you, he is the BEST. For me he has not only helped with the right cocktails of medicines but he has LISTENED to my "issues" and has helped me immensely by listening and talking to me. I consider myself very lucky to be his patient for several years.

Dr. Sternbach is GREAT. I wouldn't be functional at all if he hadn't agreed to take care of me years ago. As far as the "wait time" --- I had to put 5 min. because that was the lowest wait time offered in the check boxes. BUT the real wait time is zero. He has helped me with EVERYTHING even if not related to my "mind" problems. And he always advises me on other things when I am not able to find the right path.

The wait time is zero, I said 5 minutes because there was no zero option. Dr. Sternbach is ALWAYS on time.

This doctor has been helping me for longer than anyone else who has reviewed him. What kind of loose cannon could give him a one-star review? He is the most reliable and helpful of any doctor I have seen in ANY discipline throughout in my life. Without him, who knows what might have happened to me. He's overseen my treatment for two decades during which I went from being a basket case to now enjoying 15 years of relatively stable mood. I hate peer review whiners which I'm taking this time to slap their wrists. There is no way on earth he isn't one of the best doctors in LA, if not on the planet.

I have never reviewed any doctor but dr sternbach is so great i thought i would answer these rating questions. dr. sternbach is a REAL doctor is the best way i can think of to describe him. he is a psychiatrist and psychopharmacologist. not to be trite but "Dr. Sternbach ROCKS."

I unfortunately have significant experience with multiple psychiatrists over the past decade. Dr. Sternbach is by far the best I have seen. Words cannot do him justice. He is very astute, professional, capable, and caring. He is an excellent diagnostician and has a very broad, thorough approach to therapy. I can truly say that I credit him for saving my life. I highly call any criticisms highly into question.

I have, unfortunately, had a lot of experience with mental health care specialists and psychiatrists. Dr. Sternbach came highly recommended to me by my primary doctor. Dr. Sternbach is well known and highly regarded in his field, particularly for discovering Serotonin Syndrome. As with any psychiatric medicine, there is a lot of medication trial and error, which can be difficult for a patient to endure. Dr. Sternbach has been very patient and is always ready to help you with any challenges in this arena.I have seen Dr. Sternbach on and off for at least 3 years now. His demeanor is very calming and professional. He seems very caring both in person and over the phone. He has an excellent memory (and/or takes excellent notes), and always remembers issues I have had previously. This alone is worth seeing him. I've been to many doctors who are trying to review my file as I am seeing them. The outcome has often been unsatisfactory in those circumstances, so I greatly appreciate the… fact that he reviews my file thoroughly BEFORE we meet. He has always been amazingly prompt with call-backs and appointment requests as well. His assistant is professional and follows through with her promises promptly.Dr. Sternbach is a fee-for-service doctor, meaning he does not accept insurance, and you pay at the time of service each time you see him. Although this was daunting for me, it was worth the extra money to see a true expert. I am lucky enough to have a health care reimbursement account, so I am able to manage the extra costs. I work in the medical field, and know that his fees are very reasonably priced.He is extremely thorough in explaining options, and writes them out completely for you. He also is open to your thoughts and suggestions if you bring them up to him. All in all, I would definitely recommend Dr. Sternbach to a friend. He has been a true help to me.
