Dr. Ronnie Isaac Mimran, MD

I have been an patient of Dr. Mimran for 8 years. I have suffered for a sports injury and recently an acute disc herniation at 5/1. After exhausting all conservative therapy options surgery was the last hope. Dr. Mimran knew surgery was the best option but allowed me to come to that conclusion on my own. He took a very conservative approach to my care and respected my wishes. The pain got so intense and my daily activity was being impacted. Within two weeks, Dr. Mimran rearranged his schedule to fit me in for a visit ultimately leading to a microdisc procedure. I was very hesitant to do surgery but knew I was in excellent hands. The days leading up to surgery Dr. Mimran and his staff stayed in touch with me to ensure the whole process went smoothly. His scheduling team were able to work with insurance in an expedited fashion to ensure I could receive the appropriate care in a timely fashion. They went above and beyond and I am forever thankful. Dr. Mimran is a kind,… compassionate, and brilliant surgeon. My surgery was a success and I was 100% pain free. I am a very active person and now I have my life back again thanks to the delicate hands and brilliant mind of Dr. Mimran. If you are in pain and want a conservative surgeon go see Dr. Mimran. He is not your typical surgeon who will say surgery is the only option but if he knows surgery will heal you he will let you know. He will not disappoint.

Dr. Mimran was very arrogant and did a very very poor job in following up after surgery-- I ended up going to another surgeon to get a second opinion and received much better care. Mimran acted like he was better than me and I would never return to his care.

I could not have asked for a better experience with Dr. Mimran. I was frightened at the prospect of back surgery but Dr. Mimran was easy to communicate with, scheduling appointments and surgery was easy and follow up has been "a piece of cake". I have been a good patient too, and have felt very much a part of a team. I feel Dr Mimran is an outstanding doctor and I would recommend him to anyone needing a neurosurgeon.

Excellent surgeon! Gave my life back after spondylolisthesis surgery at L3, L4. He is easy to talk with, takes his time, explains things well, and has a good sense of humor. The office staff is very pleasant and helpful.

If I could give Dr. Minram and his staff 10 stars I would. They were all very friendly and made me feel at ease as soon as I walked through the door. Dr. Minram's bedside manner was very comforting and his explanation of the surgery I need and the information I was given was spot on. My husband and I felt like we had an instant connection with him. He greeted us both with a smile, handshake and it is very apparent he is confident in what he does. I am actually excited and looking forward to my surgery and getting my life back.

Dr. Mimran is an exceptional doctor. He has performed 2 surgeries on my neck and I have been pleased with the outcome both times. This doctor is tops in his field! Not only that, he is a very pleasant doctor and wonderful to deal with him and his staff. I completely and fully recommend him!

I would highly recommend Dr. Mimran. He and his staff are outstanding. He was recommended to me by my Phsyical Therapist, who sees the outcomes of many different surgeons and had indicated he consistently sees fantastic results from Dr. Mimran. I can attest as well to being one of them. I had serious issues with my back that came on rather suddenly that resulted in major difficulty walking and severe pain. MRI showed a herniated disc in L5 but could not explain the issues I was having with numbness in areas related to L4. I had a second opinion at Stanford and they were not even going to try to address my L4 issues in my leg... Dr. Mimran addressed both L5 & L4 and only found the real issues once in surgery - a synovial cyst at L4 that was not showing on MRI. He had fantastic bedside manner - he and his PA spent lots of time with me to answer all my questions and address any concerns pre- and post surgery. Surgery was amazing - was walking the next day and walking 4 miles a… day within 5 days of surgery. I am now 5 months out and he cleared me for waterskiing - just had a great vacation mountain biking, waterskiing and kayaking and hiking every day. If you have a back issue needing a neurosurgeon - highly recommend Dr. Mimran. The office was super helpful as well dealing with a billing challenge with a surgery center.

For most people the thought of spinal surgery in any capacity is a frightening decision. The nerve pain that went on 24/7 in my neck and right arm left me bed ridden for 5 months. During that time I searched for the root cause of my debilitating condition. When it was finally determined that I need 2, possibly 3 discs replaced in my neck along with the appropriate plates and screws put in place from C4-C7, I definitely had to take a deep breath. So many questions ran through my mind such as who is the best surgeon for my specific condition? What kind of outcome can I expect? If I do find a highly recommended surgeon, will they be affiliated with a facility I can trust?Well, after asking friends, other physicians, and a very well respected physical therapist, one name kept coming up which was Dr. Ronnie Mimran. I did see an orthopedic surgeon first but I wanted a second opinion. Dr. Mimran is a neurosurgeon with Pacific Brain & Spine. He has impeccable credentials and a… wonderful bedside manner. He genuinely cares about the health and welfare of his patients. He answered all of my questions and treated me with respect. The follow-up care was clearly outlined and I knew what to expect after surgery. The hospital where I had my procedure was Eden Medical in Castro Valley. They have a neurosurgery unit that took very good care of me, which was very important because I have had some not so great experiences at other facilities.So in short, if you are faced with any type of spinal surgery, make sure you ask lots of questions, know what the procedure will entail, including post operative care and future dos and donts. Get referrals from more than one source, and do some simple internet searches for credentials and feedback from previous patients. Even though there are no guarantees in life, being well informed is an important part of caring for your health and your future.

It took some wrestling with my insurance company to get me together with Dr. Mimran, but am glad I persisted! A brilliant man who puts his patients above all. Thanks.
