Dr. William John Belles, MD

Dr. Belles is literally the best ENT around. I have not experienced issues with his staff, but the reviews should be about HIM. He is brilliant and a highly skilled surgeon - I am finally able to breath correctly out of my nose, probably for the first time in decades. I was very nervous because I had SO many issues that needed to be resolved surgically - but there is a reason his wait times are long and people travel in to see him. He will be the guy to resolve your ENT issues. I couldn't recommend Dr. Belles any higher, and will be forever grateful to him for changing the quality of my life.

Sat in the waiting room for over three hours each appointment I had. Dr. Belles let a college student preform my surgery and they completely messed it up. Then Valerie in billing is so unorganized she’s asking that I re pay a $5000 bill that my insurance company already paid five years ago. Then she hides like a child when you call to talk to her or show up person to sort it out and bring her proof of the bill being paid. This entire office is an embarrassment to any medical office and are nothing but a complete scam

The appointment was rushed and he wasn't wearing his mask correctly. He doesn't protect patient privacy and leaves the door wide open. He also talked to the assistant while in another room. He was extremely rude and so was his assistant.

This doctor was recommended to me by Kenmore Mercy Emergency. I arrived on time to fill out about 6 pages of health questions. I would have preferred to fill this out ahead of time, but wasn't given that as an option. I wasn't called in to see the doctor until 2-1/4 hours went by!! Crazy!! The staff was polite. I told the woman taking me inside that I only had 15 mins since I had something to attend! He did come right in & did a good job with his knowledge of my condition & finished in less than 15 mins. Luckily, I don't need to return, because there's NO WAY that I would! ??

DO NOT SEE THIS MONSTER!!!! I had a cholesteatoma and ear drum repair surgery. I could not get a follow up appointment because Dr. Belles's staff said he absolutely had no appointments for months. I didn't know because I was only 22 years old that the gel packing had to come out immediately following surgery. Well 2 months later I get an appointment but by that time irreparable damage had been done. I have since had 4 surgeries with a different ENT to clean up this monster's mess. I have permanent hearing loss and now have to wear a hearing aid at the age of 26. The worst mistake of my life was putting my trust in this "DOCTOR" that is supposed to help people. I will have hearing problems for the rest of my life now.

Rude office staff, especially his receptionist Lucy. I don't understand how any office could hire a person with the manners of a trailer park. How can I choose a doctor to fix my health issues if he is not capable of hiring proper staff members?

This doctor supposedly was to fix my nose. The jerk used a sticky bandage instead of a cast. Upon removal he bent my nose horribly out of shape. He should have been sued. Now I’m left with a permanent dent in my nose. How embarrassing. Awful. Beware

I am a medical professional myself. I have actually worked with Dr. Belles at ECMC trauma rehab for many years in the past. The reason you wait in his office so long is because he is stretched so thin. There are not many ENT docs who want to work in the hospitals anymore. He never says no and as a result he has to go to many city hospitals to see inpatient ENT problems that many other docs don't want to bother with. I used to see him at ECMC at 2 and 3 o'clock in the morning-can you imagine! But that's what happens when you have facial trauma cases. He have to go at any hour of the day and night because of the critical nature of the work that he does in that setting. And often he'll be working in his office till midnight or after trying to take care of all the outpatient that need his expertise. Now remember that quality medical care is best when you are in the most experienced hands that take care of the most challenging problems. That means Dr. Belles. If you're concerned about… how long you have to wait because he's overstretched beyond belief, maybe you better go to a concierge medical practice where they are overly concerned about the fancy waiting room and your patient experience. For me I'm more concerned about the quality of my medical care, not how nice the office staff is or is not, or how wonderfully comfortable the waiting room is. Frankly when I see that kind of setting I'm usually worried that there is more concern about the bottom line money and the business of medicine and that's why they try to make it so appealing. They may be good physicians also, but I bet you're going to be taken care of by a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant after the first visit while the physician maximizes income by doing surgery or procedures while the nurse practitioners and physician's assistants do all the long term care follow-ups. Even in some cases many of these concierge practices will have the nurse practitioner do most of the initial visit too. So choose what you want, an overworked, but most competent ENT physician who will take good care of you without trying to push you off to a NP or PA, or a smooth running medical mill. Actually we don't have an abundance of ENT docs in Buffalo so I don't even think there's one that runs a concierge ENT practice. But I'm just trying to get all of you who are critical to realize and learn that good medicine does not necessarily run smoothly and efficiently. But when it comes to your health don't you think that's a little more important than worrying about a pleasing office and experience. By the way when I go to see him I wait 60-120 mins. to see him too, but I bring lots of work with me that I do while I'm waiting so I lose no time whatsoever. What waiting time- I have none !! Get yourself one of the best ENT docs you'll find in any city..!

Great caring doctor. Never rushes you out and gives good care and follow up. The wait time is not what we are used to but does not bother me so I stay a patient
