Dr. Adam Anton Sassoon, MD

HORRIBLE SURGEON! I had to have a revision by Dr. McPherson at UCLA because of him. People I had 9 yes 9 hip dislocations after he operated on me. He came off very arrogant and I reported him for gaslighting me. I'm so disappointed in UCLA for having him there.

THE WORST!! He didn't listen to me and it was like pulling teeth to get him to answer my questions. After the THIRD time that I asked him if exercising on my elliptical would create further pain in my arthritic knee, he said: "You doing that isn't going to make my job harder." I could give a crap if I make his job harder!! Obviously he's only thinking of himself and not me. I went to a different knee surgeon when I originally tore my meniscus in this knee about a dozen years ago and he was ETHICAL. He told me not to have surgery because of my arthritis and knee surgery may not help. I'm determined not to have knee surgery for many reasons and Dr. Sassoon did not give a crap. He was like a broken record about needing a new knee. He also prescribed a medication Meloxicam, which is really bad for me. Luckily I read the instructions when the drug arrived and it said to let all my doctors know that I was taking this drug. First, my PCP got back to me and said someone my age… shouldn't be on Meloxicam. And my cardiologist said not to take this for more than one to two weeks. So I stopped taking Meloxicam immediately. And what did Sassoon say about Meloxicam when I was in his office? That it would be better for me than Tylenol and that in three months I should have kidney level blood tests done. He is clearly an idiot. Additionally, he never once said "you're gonna feel like a new woman" or "you're gonna wish you had a knee replacement years ago." To me this means he means he JUST WANTS TO CUT. Lastly, he was one of the doctors I sent my message to per my drug company's recommendation. I asked him why he recommended it since I'd read a lot of negative things about this drug prior to receiving it. He never got back to me to explain why he prescribed this dangerous drug for me. Beware. I will never step back into his office!

I went to see Dr. Sassoon after seeing about 3-4 other orthos. Those other orthos kept turning their backs on me and refused to do a total knee replacment due to my young age. When i went in to see Dr. Sassoon i was very depressed. Dr Sassoon listed to me and and told me that he was going to help me and work with me as a team. We had to start from the bottom and do PT, and pain meds, cortisone injections, and if all fail he was willing to do the surgery. Since all failed him and his team performed a total knee replacement (6 years ago) and i am doing better than ever. My “bad” knee is my good knee! I am very happy with my new knee and thanks to him i can work a full 8 hr shift and play with my 8 and 3 yr old. I can ride a bike, hike, jog. Thank you Dr. Sassoon i will always remember you!

Great surgeon. Kind and caring. Fixed both my knees. Always listens to you.

I went to see Dr. Sassoon after seeing two other top rated orthos. The previous Dr.s would not take my case, it was too complicated. When I went to see Dr. Sassoon I was pretty depressed that I was going to have to live the rest of my life in pain. He admitted it was a complicated hip replacement but he could do it. He made sure we dotted our "i's" and crossed out "t's". The surgery went great! I am very happy with my new hip!

I went in for a knee that I had a revision on due to the old implant coming apart in my leg. He was not compassionate nor did he word things in a way that would put the patient welfare first. Did not offer anything but to cut the leg off. I was upset that he didn't even try he was cold and treated me with zero respect. I started having tears didn't offer a tissue. I felt like I wasn't even worth fixing. I finally said a guess a bullet is cheap and would end the problem his response was "Do I need to send you to the psych clinic " I would NEVER suggest that anyone would go to him till he can be compassionate.
