Dr. Afriye Rochelle Amerson, MD

Dr. Amerson is the most caring doctor I’ve ever encountered. I was 43 years of age when she delivered my healthy baby boy. She is absolutely fantastic. If I became pregnant now, at the age of 50, I would want her to deliver my baby.

It took me years to write this review . I was pregnant with my first baby and went to a 7 week appointment where she insensitively and unprofessionally told me I would miscarry my baby. I left there horrified and couldn't believe any doctor would share this news in the way she had. If you want a compassionate and caring doctor please go elsewhere .

Saw doctor Amerson years ago when I was a teenager and I am still traumatized by how she treated me. Back then there were no online reviews or places to warn people, so I feel compelled to lend my voice now. All she cares about is becoming a celebrity doctor. She does not care about her patients especially teens and meeting what their needs are and listening to concerns. I am disappointed she is still in private practice. Unreal.

Stay clear of this woman. My 19 year old daughter had cysts on her ovary which she removed. Unfortunately one ovary and Fallopian tube were removed as well. My daughter developed an infection soon after and instead of admitting her to hospital sent a home health nurse to administer iv antibiotic. I pleaded to have her admitted due to my daughter's constant pain and fever and I finally took her to emergency whereby her stitches " burst" in intake. She was finally admitted and released a week later. This woman would not take my calls even though my daughter gave her permission. My daughter is now 28 , married and a baby nurse. Her Fallopian tubes are completely blocked because of the medical treatment under the care this terrible person.

Dr. Amerson was in a hurry, neglected to introduce herself, and was more concerned about "getting me back into my wedding dress within a month of delivery" than about answering my actual questions or providing real medical advice. I will not be seeing her again.

Awful experience. This doctor is not professional at all. I could have ended up with a life threatening condition. First, the doctor told me that the IUD did not need to be removed because it had fallen on it's own. I found out a year later that the IUD was perforating my organs. There was not proper follow -up on some fibroids and risk for cancer. I ended up having a complete hysterectomy. I feel like Dr. Amerson did not provide the right care. Her office was relocated in the middle of all this and I was not even informed but thanks to this I went for a second opinion and I received better medical care.

If you are new patient, I would suggest not visit this doctor. The staff are so unproffesional and rude. I waited for 3 weeks to see dr. I got a call 2 hrs before form the dr. office saying that our appoitment cancelled. My wife was sick and other side I was curious to confirm our baby and health of my wife. I took a day off from office and everthign got spoild. They gave appoitment to meet dr after 3 days. We forgot everthign and we were again entred happy mood to see dr. They again called said they are cancelling the appoitment. I don't know what to say and I asked them pls give any other replacement docotor to make sure everthing fine with my wife and baby. They gave a male doctor contac t we don't know anythign about the doctor adn mood completeledly baffled. aFTER COMING HOME FIRST THING I WAN T TO DO IS DO to write the review. so this helps many people who will be in the situation.

I switched to Dr. Amerson and she delivered my 3rd child ONLY.. Wish I went to her from the beginning.. Love her, very sweet, smart, caring, was just amazing in the delivery room.. Couldn't ask for a better OBGYN...

I WILL FIRST SAY THAT THE WAIT CAN BE A BIT TRYING BUT TO ME THAT THE ONLY NEGATIVE. DR. AMERSON IS YOUNG CARING AND VIBRANT. YOU PROBABLY WAIT SO LONG B/C ONCE U GET IN THERE YOU HAVE HER UNDIVIDED ATTENTION. I AM YOUNG AND SHE DELIVERED MY FIRST DAUGHTER. SHE WAS EXTREMELY ENCOURAGING AND WAS GREAT WITH MY DELIVERY. SHE DOESNT TAKE MY NEW INSURANCE AND I AM BUMMED. I DONT KNOW IF ILL FIND AS GREAT OF A DOCTOR.
