Dr. Sara Alexanndra Kreps, MD

People have said very positive and very negative things, but if you ask me, the truth is some of both. She is unusually caring and humane in some regards, but also can occasionally be controlling, and is disorganized to an extent that sometimes affects quality of care. I couldn't care less if she has towering piles of papers in her office, it's not like that's hurting anybody, but when important paperwork is missing or illegible, that's a more significant issue. She was regularly an hour late, and once was even 3 hours late, which is disrespectful. I understand doctors are busy, but patients are too, and if that's happening repeatedly, then she's obviously knowingly doing something wrong with scheduling. She also has an unhealthy approach with drugs, and pushed me to take something addictive. With many doctors it's the reverse problem, and they'll refuse addictive meds such as pain meds or fast-acting anxiety meds even if a patient really needs them, but Dr. Kreps went too far to… the opposite extreme. That said, I have a certain amount of respect for her as she helped solve some of my problems where other doctors failed me.

Terrible doctor. Consistently 45 mins to an hour late. Incredibly disorganized--regularly lost my blood results between visits (also rarely called with my blood results). I recommended her to two friends who were struggling and she never called them back. I was having an issue with my medication and it took her weeks to return my calls, even though I left on my messages that I was feeling like a danger to myself. I asked about the specifics of my diagnosis to look into medical marijuana, and she not only did not respond to my messages, but she "responded" by sending me an invoice for appointments from 2013 and 2017--which I had never received invoices for, prior to that. Her office is like a hoarder's home--waist high stacks of folders and photos and just general junk so there is only a small path to walk through to get to a chair, which is simply awful to navigate with OCD. Worst doctor, ever.

It is difficult to get a follow up phone call when attempting to schedule an appt. or get a medicine refill.

This is my fourth doctor. She always makes Me feel better. She is caring and follows up on serious physical problems. My Mental health has iMproved 100%. Highly recommended!

Dr. Kreps is an excellent doctor whose caring treatment has become so successful in Pittsburgh that it is now very difficult to get an appointment if one is a new patient. In addition, when I have chatted with people in the waiting room who also see her, we have all been willing to stay with Dr. Kreps because she _is_ such a good doctor. Not only is she caring and a syperior psychiatrist, she is also always paying attention to what is happening in a person's body. In other words, she notices and does something about unrelated medical problems that people have. In addition, she has a wonderfully compassionate "couch side" manner! Dr. Kreps is a major asset to the Pittsburgh psychiatric community!
