I just had an appointment with Dr. Perkins and it was the worse experience with a health care provider that I've ever had. He was condescending and didn't listen to anything I was saying. He even said, "I'm not calling you a liar, but I don't believe you". Who says that to a patient that is desperate for help?

Avoid at all costs. Dr. Perkins continuously implied that I was lying about something. He called my condition “impossible.” He also got angry at me because HE was not listening properly when I told him my symptoms and I had to repeat myself. Very cold bedside manner and does not have an ounce of empathy at all. He will treat you like you are an idiot.

Unprofessional, unkind and disrespectful.

After suffering countless sleepless nights and visiting 5 doctors in 9 weeks who could not offer a diagnosis, I was able to quickly schedule an appointment with Dr. Perkins. He took the time to listen to my symptoms and concerns. His response, however, was unexpectedly unkind, belittling, and unprofessional. He said, "It sounds like something from a science fiction movie. How many other doctors have you seen rolling their eyes at you?" He ordered a head MRI which I was able to schedule that evening and received written test results within 48 hours. After my one office visit with him and reading the reviews at this site, I will happily schedule my follow-up visit with his nurse practitioner.

I saw him years ago for Narcolepsy. It has changed my life very much for the worse. The lack of mental acuity was and still is a hard thing to deal with. I used to be very sharp. I was telling him one morning that I couldn't remember how to make coffee one morning and he said and I quote, " Wow, you're really stupid". One visit he asked me as he was walking me out of the office and the visit was over if my husband and I still had sexual relations. However, the most notable thing about him is his ego. It is so large that the 3 of us could hardly fit in the exam room. Me, him and his ego. I moved on after about 6 months of not getting any better.

I have been a patient of Dr. Perkins for several years. He is very thorough and answers all of my questions at each visit. After testing and adjusting some drugs that were not reducing my seizures, Dr. Perkins recommended a new medication. I am now 11 years seizure free thanks to him!
