Dr. Amy Lai, MD

I was referred to Dr Lai from my primary ENT doctor for nasal valve surgery as its one of her specialties. It's a complicated surgery which I hadn't known and she explained it in great detail. I've met with her twice so far and each time found her to be friendly. She also spent considerable time with me. The wait time at this busy group practice can be a half hour tom45 minutes but that is likely because the doctors don't rush through appointments. I'm still deciding if I want to do the surgery at all so don't have an opinion on surgical results.

Dr Lai is incredibly professional and really knows what she's doing. I trust her implicitly. I cannot for the life of me understand why she got two bad reviews, this doctor went to Harvard undergraduate and Harvard medical school and got her experience in one of the best hospitals in the country. Doctors don't have to be warm and fuzzy to be kind, smart and talented. I whole heartedly recommend her to everyone. She took care of my father, who is in his late 80s and did a great job. He had a pretty gnarly sinus surgery 5 days ago and is already back on his feet and out and about. She explained everything clearly, made sure we understood everything every step of the way.

Dr Lai is very cold and dismissive. There was no connection with her. I will not go back to this practice. Certainly not her.

I took my child in to see her because of his ears. She did a complete exam on him and said that he had nodules on his thyroid and it was very rare in a child and said that it could possibly be cancer. Said this in front of him and had us all worried. After the tests came back, he had no masses, nodules, tumors, or cysts on his thyroid. She was very unprofessional with the way she told us. She causes stress that didnt need to happen. I will not see this doctor again!!!
