Dr. Amy Kersten Reisenauer, MD

I was giving Reisenauer clinic 3 chances before I write any review. Few weeks ago it was my 3rd visit in the clinic and I am not happy with treatment at all. It started around 6 months ago when I had scheduled my first visit with cosmetologist Esther.I had acne and some scars that I wanted to get rid of. Following her recommendations, we did a very strong peel. My skin reacted horribly, it looked terrible and new acne just started to appear all over my face. I was unhappy, angry and unsatisfied with the final effects. I called the office and I informed them that I am totally unhappy with the final results so I went to see Esther and she just told me ‘take it easy with your skin, just use the gentle cleanser’. Again, I followed her instructions but skin was getting worse and worse, so we scheduled appointment with dr Amy. First of all, the doctor seemed to be in rush, I did not feel that she cared much about my problem. I really did not like it. She assumed that the antibiotic… Doxycyline will help me, so I was taking it for 3 months. My skin improved a little but again, I was expecting something more after 3 months of taking strong antibiotics. The moment I stopped taking them, acne came back. I went to the clinic for the 3rd time, very unhappy and with hope that this time the doctor will help me.Again, she seemed to be in rush so the visit lasted for about 10 minutes. Dr Amy prescribed me Spironolactone saying that I can take it as long as I want, because it’s safe but there will be a big chance acne will come back the moment I stop taking it!!! I am going to the doctor looking for ways to get rid of acne NOT to take pills till the end of my life. She also said that she can prescribe me Accutane. It is a very strong medicine that the doctor should inform the patient about all the negative side effects before recommending it to a person. I doubt dr Amy can help you with your skin problems. I am unhappy with current result of my treatment. Skin does not improve and I am becoming more and more frustrated. I DO NOT recommend dr Amy(although she is a nice person) because I do not believe she has enough knowledge to treat people’s skin.My recommendation: try to care more about your patients, ask them to do blood test first before prescribing anything stronger, do NOT show them that you are in rush. I will not come back to the clinic again and I will not recommend anyone to go there. If you care about your skin, do not waste your money on their treatments.

We have been seeing Dr Reisenauer for the 3 years we have been on Maui. On the last routine visit she noticed a tiny spot on what would look like an ordinary symmetrical/same color 4mm mole and had it biopsied on a 'gut feeling'. That 'spot' just (0.8mm!!) was a blood vessel feeding a very early melanoma; she saved us the horror and suffering of that very aggressive cancer. We went to Queen's in Honolulu and Dr Shane Morita for the surgery and sentinel node removal. He was thrilled to tell us the node was negative. Dr Reiemhauer is kind, open and smart; a wonderful combination and one that saved a life!!

The best dermatologist Dr. I've ever had in my lifetime!!!!!!! So very sorry to see her leave Kaiser. What a tremendous loss for Kaiser, myself,and so many others.My heart is broken.

This director met all my expectations during my visit. I highly recommend her to all others.
