Dr. Anjum Bashir, MD

I have been in Dr Bashir’s care in the past and I hope to be able to return to his practice in the near future I have Parkinson’s and at times can be very anxious. I recently have had back surgery and now I am going to see a Cancer specialist in Decatur, which is making me very anxious Randi Tugssby is manager of my overall care now and I hope again that I can return to your practice I find you to be an excellent psychiatrist! I started seeing Anjum Bashir when I was 16 or 17 years old. I am almost 20 now and I could not imagine going to any other doctor. He and the rest of his staff is extremely warm and inviting and always take your thoughts, feelings, and ideas into consideration. They're super sweet and they've never made me feel guilty or felt like I was being judged. Not to mention my depression and anxiety have decreased significantly since I've been on a medication regimen. I would recommend him to anyone.

I found Dr. Basir very easy to speck with and he handled my changing needs very well. I was diagnosed with MS by my neurologist in the middle of my time and he helped to make sure I was not having adverse reactions to the combination of meds I was being given by both doctors.

Dr. Bashir dropped a patient after he found out that patient had too many problems. My family was trying desperately to get help for a mentally ill family member who was Dr. Bashir's patient. We were told that all we could to to help was write letters informing Dr. Bashir of our experiences with the patient, so Dr. Bashir could better help. After reading the letters, Dr. Bashir dropped the patient. I assume because he didn't want to help. Isn't his job to help patients who have mental illnesses?

This doctor is a poor choice if you are looking for help. He is rushed, does not seem to have a clue about latest research studies regarding the safety and efficacy of the drugs he prescribes. He does not truly pay any attention to you and is not interested in tailoring his treatment to fit your specific needs.

Dr. Bashir is very courteous, very sharp minded, and is caring. The only thing I would say is he could take some time with the patient. I feel very rushed on an appointment. But I guess that what everyone would say about all doctors, they forget we pay them.

This doctor's office overbooks appointment and you usually wait anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes to see him after your appointment time. Since being crammed with patients, the doctor will rush you in and out as quickly as possible. Dr. Bashir does not seem to have any personal experience with any psychiatric disorders other than what he read in the books in at his Pakistan University.Office staff also drops the ball. Never count on them to have paper work filled out in a reasonable amount of time. You may call repeatedly to remind them but vital paperwork between the doctor and your employer will only be completed if you threaten to get a refund of the 25 dollars you paid to have the doctor fill it out. The only good thing about this office is they can get you into appointment very quickly, as well as follow ups. Since they double book your appointment, I don't know how good of a thing that is.It is of my opinion there are better doctors in the area, with qualified staff who you should… seek first, before seeking treatment with Dr. Bashir.
