Awful. Bedside manner atrocious. Treated both my wife -- who is an educated professional -- and son -- who is very bright 17 year old in great discomfort -- like dirt. Dismissive, arrogant, insensitive, and completely uninstructive. We will recommend to anyone we care about not to waste their time with this idiot. Damaging to reputations of doctors generally, and there are too many good practitioners to waste traffic time on this one. No kidding.

Dr. Vu treated me for skin cancer (basal). I found her to be knowledgeable, polite, and personable. I was pleased with the treatment I received. But here are two suggestions that I hope the good doctor and her staff will find useful. 1. After my treatment, performed in the doctor's office, I was given verbal instructions concerning wound care. It is important to remind the staff that patients who undergo this procedure may be already in a heightened emotional state, since the procedure may require multiple removals of skin, burning of the skin, sutures, and local anesthesia. In other words, the trauma that results from the procedure, small as it may be, causes not only physical discomfort, but has an emotional component as well. Instructions should be given IN WRITING to the patient, advising him/her what to expect in terms of pain level, what to do if the pain is severe enough, how to take care of the wound, how long is the wound expected to remain open, what signs to look… for to avoid complications. Some, not all, of these items were covered rather perfunctorily by the assistant, who also mentioned what over the counter product to use to soothe the lesion. This also needs to be put in writing. Although you, the staff, are used to perform these tasks daily, you need to be aware that a patient that undergoes this procedure, particularly for the first time, is usually in no position to remember all of these details. It would also be very useful to hand to the patient, in addition to the information sheet mentioned above, a sample of the product to use. This was not done. The receptionist gave me one as I was leaving and asked her again for the name of the product since I had already forgotten it. Again, all of this is "no brainer," common sense kind of stuff that facilitates everything, both for the patient and staff. 2. This practice subscribes to a "patient portal," (eClinicalWeb) where, presumably, the patient can have access to lab reports and other useful information. But the portal is barely functional. There is no information available except a reminder of the next appointment. This seems useless. If you are going to subscribe to this kind of technology, then use it and provide its content to the patient.

Dr. Vu is an incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable doctor. You would have to search a long time to find a doctor who has all of Dr. Vu's good qualities. Everything about her practice is topnotch. I have never met a more conscientious and friendly doctor. She inspires confidence as well with her excellent medical background and knowledge.
