Dr. Cheng-Huai Ruan, MD

This review concerns the administrative staff, not Dr. Ruan’s medical care, because the office cancelled the appointment before the patient was ever seen. I made approximately 14 calls over one week trying to obtain routine new-patient forms so medical records could be uploaded in advance. Staff repeatedly transferred me, passed responsibility from person to person, and promised on Friday that the forms would be sent Monday. Monday came, and nothing was sent. Maria Christina was especially dismissive. When I asked whether she was available to speak because she sounded distracted, she condescendingly repeated, “I’m speaking with you.” She never answered why the forms had not been provided, offered no explanation, and gave no resolution. Instead, she abruptly stated, “We’re going to cancel your appointment.” This office cancelled a patient’s appointment rather than provide basic paperwork or take responsibility for its own administrative failures. After reading other reviews this is not… new, that should concern any prospective patient.

I started with Dr. Ruan as a patient while he was affiliated with a practice in Katy and was very pleased. I followed him when he opened the wellness clinic where he is able to practice medicine much more proficiently and direct resources to my specific needs. My husband and I have seen a truly remarkable difference in our overall health, sleep, energy level, and well being. PLUS we've lost over 50 lbs each just because we feel better, so we live better! I would trust Dr. Ruan with every medical decision I have to make. Recently I had to undergo surgery and I took all the information to him to help me make an informed decision. While preparing for the surgery, Dr. Ruan had me on increased levels of probiotics and prebiotics to prepare my system for the antibiotics and anesthesia that I would be receiving. My system has NEVER been better.

The doctor I've been searching for!! His approach to wellness is unlike any other doctor I've come across, especially in this medicine-rich city of Houston. To say Dr. Ruan is great is a HUGE understatement! He has completely changed my view and habits in regards to my personal wellness. Being young I didn't think I had any issues, but nowadays with the amount of toxins we are susceptible to it's absolutely necessary for someone like Dr. Ruan to shed light on the unknown. I HIGHLY Recommend Dr. Cheng Ruan and everyone at Texas Center for Lifestyle Medicine, because they treat wellness in the holistic point of view and get down to the true cause. Which is very rare! Do yourself a favor and go see them!

I have had an unknown reason causing extreme fatigue over the last 4 years. I googled Functional Medicine, and Insurance. They take most medical insurance, but because I am Tricare, which they are working on trying to become part of the network, I have to pay the cash rate for my visit, but not expensive. Before you even begin to move forward on treatment, they do a ton of blood work and will work with the labs to file the insurance. So far the only out of pocket I have are supplements, which is what I need, and visits. I love this group, they are very knowledgeable, listen, and work hard to get you well, and keep you that way. Jennifer, the NP, is amazing, listens, and cares. I am sooo very happy I found them, and I am moving towards being normal again, not there yet, but have only had 3 visits. Jennifer says it is like peeling off layers of an onion, and they keep peeling until your feeling better. Husband is next.

Avoid. Deceptive business practices. I'd give him zero stars if possible. You schedule an appointment with him, but when you get to his office you find out you will only see one of his Registered Nurses. At end of the follow up visit I had to beg the nurse to let me meet him. She came back with him and he only gave me 5 minutes. Not impressed.

This place is fantastic. From the initial meeting with Michelle NP and Dr. Ruan, they took their time meeting with me, collecting a binder of information and coming up with a plan. I like that they are looking for the root of the problem and fixing that instead of other places just giving pills to cover it up. If you have issues that doctors have told you are irreversible or they can't figure out the what and why, Dr. Ruan and his team can.

Dr.ruan is the actual one of the good docs left. He cares about his patients and gives you all the time you need.

Excellent physician that really takes time to listen to his patients. A wonderful addition to the Katy area.

Dr. Ruan actually sat down with me and tried to figure out everything that's going on with me. He is active on social media and reaches out to people . Love it!
