We had a horrible experience. We showed up for the first shot at 11 when our appointment was. We waited over 2 hours to be called back. We were the last appointment of the day. They gave my husband the shot and wheeled him out to our car not even 4 minutes later even though he felt dizzy and was having difficulty standing. Within 2 blocks of the office he was about to pass out. I turned around but the office staff was already gone. I had to drive him to the ER where he had sezieur like activity for around 2 hours. It is a miracle he is alive. He now has more problems than he did before. I will never recommend this option or this place. The unprofessionalism here is horrible. From the staff to the Dr. I could share so much more but I am don't wasting my time on them.

Dr Oakofor did my surgery in 2019 I had a mass on my spine he removed the mass I am so grateful for him and his assistant Kyle PA I thank GOD for them both great staff so fortunate he was at the hospital when I can though the emergency room ?

This is a ambulance chasing facility. My husband was in a car accident with 2 broken vertebrae in his back. They have a MRI machine in a trailer in the back which is the first clue this is not a professional place. They took a ton of xrays, wanted 3 MRIs and never examined him or touched him on his initial visit. What kind of dr doesn’t even examine the patient? The PA looked like a deer in headlights when we asked any questions. Dr came in at the end and he wad nice, may be a good dr but the entire experience felt like a sub standard facility. When we called to ask how much each MRI cost they wouldn’t tell us. Also they charged $25 to get your mri disk to take for a second opinion. They charged my insurance almost $4500 for the initial visit if that tells you anything for X-rays, and 1 MRI but never examined him. Absolutely ridiculous! I’m going to make it my mission to tell everyone I know NEVER to go here. There are plenty other quality doctors to go to. We found a great and… legitimate Dr in Winter Haven. Drive to Tampa even if you have to just run away from here.

really can't say enough good about Dr. Okafor. I spent 20yrs living with pain an numbness in my lower back an legs that the VA wouldn't do anything for. After retiring I started looking for a second opinion. I felt that Dr. Oakfor had the best ratings an experience in his field. I'm so blessed to have chosen him. After my operation for L4-L5 decompression & instrumented fusion my lower back an legs are BACK! I have to thank him an his staff for being so professional. I'll be recommending the Spine Institute of Lakeland to anyone who tells me the have back problems. Thank you All !!

I came to Dr. Okafor as I experienced pain from a herniated disc, spinal stenosis, and degenerative disease for over 12 years. I was treated like a person and set up for injections and ultimately surgery and now I am pain free! I got my life back. Thank you, Dr. Okafor!

I am satisfied with the treatment that I have received at Spine Institute of Central Florida. The pain that I was experiencing in the back of my neck, left shoulder and left forearm was gone immediately after my surgery. This pain at times was so severe I could not concentrate.

My pain was in my lower back on the left side. After I had a Rhizotomy at Spine Institute of Central Florida, maybe 20 seconds later the pain was gone before I even got off the procedure table. If someone is having pain like I was having and they don’t have this done they are stupid. I’ll have it done as many times as it takes. It’s a very tolerable procedure and only feels like a little pinch. It’s not even worth talking about because that’s how little it hurts. When Dr. Okafor burns the nerves I didn’t feel it at all. He told me he was finished and I couldn’t believe it but my pain was gone.

I’m feeling great and have much pain relief after my kyphoplasty at Spine Institute of Central Florida. It hurt a lot less than I thought it would and I got pain relief within a couple of days. I was having pain maybe up to a level 9 sometimes but I have pain relief now. They take great care of me here and make sure the procedure is done right and I am very, very pleased. I’m amazed at how well I feel.

I had a back problem in my lower back, it was aggravating my spinal cord and the pain went down my leg. Injections didn’t work for me and after getting the MRI done it showed I really had a mess going on. Dr. Kyle Merritt even came to me my first visit after getting the MRI and he said he couldn’t believe I was walking without a wheelchair. I’m a Christian and I believe in prayer so I prayed about my situation and it seems I was led to come to Spine Institute of Central Florida and have Dr. Okafor do the surgery. I am very pleased and I have no pain and this is four months after surgery. I’m 81 so I’m real blessed with good health, I’ve had a long and full life and I don’t expect to go anywhere anytime soon. I appreciate everything the staff at Spine Institute of Central Florida has done for me and I would recommend to anyone and I’m real pleased. My wife has also come for her back problems and she got injections. We are both very pleased and would recommend it to anyone.
