Dr. Denise Marie Damek, MD

University of Colorado at Denver neurology department was suggested to me as THE top notch in Colorado. I met Dr. Damek with high hopes that she might answer any of my questions or even try to answer my questions at some academic of advanced level which might give hope or some comfort. I was extremely disappointed by her lack of knowledge and unwillingness to even explain my problem. She did not even tried to give me hope that I could be cured one day. All what she tried to do is continue to manage my pain with more bills. She is another below average "manage the pain" pill doctor. Do not waste your time and do not raise your hopes up otherwise you will be disappointed.

Because my symptoms were a "square peg" that did not fit into a round hole for easy diagnosis, she was painfully dismissive and suggested I *not* attempt to get a second opinion. My GP of 15 years, who is very concerned about my physical health, is already sending me to another doctor. . . .

I do not know why Dr. Damek is a neuro oncologist. She has a very fatalistic outlook and does not respect the patient's wish to fight. If she decides your quality of life is not good she will stop treatment regardless of what you want. She decided my father's brain cancer was growing again and stopped treatment against our wishes. Two other neuro oncologists disagreed with her assessment. They were right and she was wrong but we lost valuable time seeking treatment.

Dr. Damek has been a wonderful neuro-oncologist for me. She is very knowledgeable and is up to date on the current medical literature. She takes teh time to go over and discuss my MRIs, slice by slice, every time we meet. I would highly recommend Dr. Damek to anyone. My care has been first class.

Run if she is your doctor and you are diagnosed with a terminal cancer. She does not believe in looking for answers or ever finding a cure. Straight by the book, not creative or open-minded at all. Don't know why she is an oncologist.
