Dr. Douglas Mark Vanzoeren, MD

No doubt Doctor Van Zoeren knows his medicine, but if you are looking for an empathetic primary care physician, he fails miserably. I was put off by his demeanor on my initial consultation and it went down hill from there. He is disinterested, a poor communicator, and totally lacks interpersonal skills . I recently had a minor scare with a health issue and the communication was unacceptably bad and lacking in any kind of compassion, resulting in unnecessary stress and my having to set up and expedite the necessary appointments with specialists on my own. Easily the worst experience I have ever had with a physician.

I visited Dr. Vanzoeren this morning and was appalled by his "bedside manner" and total lack of interest in my wellbeing as a patient. I am struggling with back pain and was hoping to find a physical therapist or chiropractor (therapies that have worked for me and been recommended by doctors in the past). He scoffed at my request and negated the usefulness of these therapy types in a very rude manner. To top it off he didn't offer any alternatives for treatment for my back pain and flippantly gave me a referral and left with me feeling very offended and neglected. If you see Dr. Vanzoeren, be prepared to be talked down to and for your concerns to be ignored.

He is not very responsive to patient needs when you reach out to him. Additionally, he just focuses on test results without listening to his patients.
