Dr. Geoffrey Stewart, MD

I had severe scoliosis and had my spine fused previously by a doctor in Colorado. After a couple of years, pain started developing in the lower left area of the cage that is in the lumbar section of my back. I moved to Florida a couple years ago and the pain started getting worse. I was in pain all the time. I did not have a doctor but was referred to Dr. Stewart by my doctor. He performed surgery on me to take out some bad hardware and fixed that area of my cage to so it would not be a painful in the future. Dr Stewart did an amazing job. My back feels great! After leaving the hospital I have not needed any pain pills, and prior to surgery I was taking -one or two a day. If you read this Dr. Stewart, thank you for all you did for me. You have changed my life! You will always be in my heart as one of my many saviors in my life.

Dr. Stewart did a major spinal fusion surgery on me. I am 59 year old, full of osteoarthritis and I am a Jehovah Witness so he did it with no blood transfusion!!!!! His assistant Stephanie has been very busy but I needed a document filled out for legal purposes and she did it to me in a miracle time! Thank you both! You saved my life!

He is very knowledgeable and explains things very well

This was the second time I have gone to Dr. Stewart for spine surgery. While he may be short on his personal communications with patients, he is an extremely competent spine surgeon. He also works with the local colleges and picks some of the brightest talent as residents. The combination results in a professionalism I respect.

I went there and he said I needed a spinal fusion.What I got was worse than I could of ever imagined.A large seroma,endless sciatic pain in both legs,leg cramps,foot drop,numbness in the whole leg and there is more.I thought he was the best too as I was told by my own family doctor. I am still on pain meds over a year later. And still trying to get someone to fix this mess.

Dr. Stewart had great credentials so I felt I was in good hands. The surgery took much longer than anticipated, which was ok, but the result of the back surgery left me in excruciating pain for weeks. I was on morphine, oxy, and two other pain meds. I did went to another back surgeon who diagnosed that a nerve was being pinched causing the pain. That nerve situation was either created by the first surgery or Dr. Stewart just didn't complete the job completely. In either case, I blame Dr. Stewart for the anguish, pain, and a second surgery. In the follow up visits to him, he was aloof and said my neurologist was a smart man and that he could deal with it. I would never recommend this doctor....ever!!

He was very caring, took the time to help me understand my problem and the treatment and the surgery was truly a miraculous success.

A robot would act more concerned and caring about your problems. A "Do you want surgery or not" type of attitude and during the follow-up he could have cared less that I was still in tremendous pain. His response was, "You shouldn't be in pain everything looks good." When I expressed that I feel the same amount of pain he walked out of the room having nothing more to do with me. I tried to ask where do I go from here as he walked out and got no response. I was lost.

Would recomend!!!

Dr stewart fixed me after another surgeon made me worse. He told me to expect 60% improvement but 6 weeks later I am 100% pain free and active again.
