Dr. Karl Craig Boatright SR., MD

Dr. Boatright is a graduate of Harvard University and is well credentialed. In addition, he is friendly, kind, understanding, knowledgeable, and professional. His staff is stellar. He is conservative at first but recognizes when surgery is truly necessary. He performed a decompression procedure on my lower back. It was very successful and changed my life. I am able to go for walks now and I am relatively pain free in my back. I would highly recommend Dr. Boatright.

I cannot say enough positive things about. Dr. Boatright. I have been a hospital case manager for almost 20 years and I have never worked with a physician with such an amazing bedside manner and advocacy for his patients. I was trying to help my mom from across the country as I recently started a new job I did not have any PTO to fly into town, Dr. Boatright kept me updated every step of the way. He would call after hours to give me a play by play update on my mother and even filed and appeal and then did a peer to peer with my mom's insurance company to get her surgery approved....most physicians would not do this but he went above and beyond. He made my mom and I both feel so incredibly at ease and even called me the day before surgery just to make sure that everyone was on the same page. I cannot speak any higher of him and if heaven forbid we ever needed back surgery, I would not got to any one else. He is an amazing doctor and the world truly put him in the occupation he was meant… for. Thank you so much for being there for us Dr. Boatright!

Dr. Boatright gave my husband his active life back at 74. He was in pain every time he moved. He slept in his recliner and took pills. Dr. Boatright and his staff guided Craig through the entire process from initial x-rays, Medicare preauthorization, surgery, hospital recovery, in home rehab, and the healing process. Dr. Boatright and his surgical team plus hospital staff were brilliant! He is skilled, focused and personable. I would not hesitate to send anyone to him for consultation and treatment.

I had low back surgery by Dr Boatright. All through my experience withi his office I felt well taken care of. Managing my care until and after surgery. MY recovery went very smoothly with the follow up. I am standing straight, feel good. Walking, working and keeping busy. Wonderful doctor and office.

Dr. Boatright truly cares about your pain. He gets you in and is very efficient in his shots, plus he is so very friendly and well groomed. His office staff is also very friendly. You can tell they love working for this very positive environment. I highly recommend Dr. Boatright.

I hope Dr. Boatwright has access to these reviews. He is a kind and caring surgeon. His professional conduct is beyond reproach. I was in excruciating pain with every step. He explained where he thought my pain originated and how he thought he could help. His calm confidence eased my fears which were considerable. I am nearly pain free the great majority of the time thanks to Dr. Boatwright. I cannot adequately express my admiration for nor my gratitude. I have my life back.

Dr. Boatright is the best. I had been suffering from sciatica for decades, and it had gotten intolerable the past couple of years. I went to see Dr. Boatright and after MRI's and discussions he discovered that I was born with a defect of sorts, my right side lower lumbar passageways pinching my sciatica nerves, and he suggested surgery to ease the pinching. He explained that it is not a typical surgery but was fairly confident he could help, but was very open about no guarantees. I decided to go thru with the surgery, tired of not being able to walk more than a quarter mile without extreme pain. The surgery went as expected, and after a 3 month recovery, including P/T, I am able to walk indefinitely without sciatica pain! It's nothing short of a miracle, as I can now take long walks with my wife. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Boatright, committed to helping folks and obviously very happy when he does so.

Dr. Boatright was very knowledgable from the beginning. He tried all possibilities before surgery. After trying all other possibilities we proceeded with surgery resulting in a 95% pain relief. Would recommend him to future patients!

The Spine Institute of the Carolinas is an extraordinary medical practice in every way! Dr. Boatright is not only a highly skilled and well respected surgeon, he is kind and compassionate. As a patient in pain, I felt from the very start that Dr. Boatright and his staff were invested in my recovery. They were my advocates navigating insurance issues, and kept me calm and as comfortable as possible when COVID delayed my surgery. Tina, Brandi, and Erin are a delight to deal with. They each go the extra mile to maintain communication, and always make sure that you’re taken care of. Responsive, professional, and caring; everything that you could wish for in a medical office. Pia, the DPN, called every Sunday for weeks post-surgery to check in on my pain levels, and to see if I had any concerns. Outstanding patient care! Because of Dr. Boatright’s excellent care and incredible skill, I am pain free, and have been since a week post-surgery. The prospect of spine surgery can be… daunting, yet I felt completely confident with Dr. Boatright as my surgeon. He always takes the time to listen, explain, and reassure. His credentials are impressive, and that alone would be enough to pick him as your surgeon, but his “bedside manner” is what sets him apart.
