Dr. Keila Hoover, MD

Terrible communication. Terrible follow-through. Terrible customer service. I would not recommend this practice based on my experience with their communication, organization, and treatment of my time as a patient. My experience with Hoover Family Practice has been extremely frustrating. The office repeatedly failed to do its part and failed to communicate with me. I had an ongoing issue involving insurance coverage that required action from the doctor's office. Instead of getting timely assistance, I was left chasing the office for answers. Messages went unanswered or were not answered in a reasonable amount of time, and I repeatedly had to call and follow up just to find out what was happening. I understand that a doctor's office cannot control what an insurance company ultimately approves or denies. What they can control is their own communication and follow-through. In my experience, both were seriously lacking. Then came the issue with lab work. I was specifically told by the… office to come in and “just show up” for lab testing. I followed those instructions and arrived fasting and without eating. When I got there, the office was full. I was then told I could either wait or come back another day. Seriously? I followed the instructions I was given, made the trip, showed up fasting, and then was basically told, “We're too busy.” I also had additional problems getting the paperwork/orders needed for follow-up care. Once again, I had to repeatedly contact the office and explain the situation. The entire experience became: Call. Leave a message. Wait. Send another message. Wait. Call again. Explain everything again. At some point, the patient shouldn't have to chase the doctor's office just to get basic things handled. What makes this particularly frustrating is the complete lack of consideration for the patient's time. I followed the instructions I was given and was still left wasting time because things weren't properly coordinated. I'm not expecting miracles. I'm expecting basic communication, follow-through, and consideration for the patient. Unfortunately, my experience with Hoover Family Practice has been the opposite. The communication is poor. The follow-through is poor. The customer service is poor. After dealing with this repeatedly, I have lost confidence in the practice and will be looking elsewhere. Again, save yourself the time and look somewhere else.

Premium health care and Dr. Hoover are by far the most unprofessional individuals I have ever encountered in my life . I have been actively trying to resolve a erroneous (possibly fraudulent) billing error with them for the last 3 years (there has been no resolution, I can’t even get a response via email ). This is not a doctors office this is a factory where they value money more than patient care. In my opinion If you value your physical and mental health it’s best you stay away from this doctor and premium health care itself.

I did not see Dr. Hoover. I seen a nurse practitioner who i believe does not have any bedside manner. I specifically told the appointment setter i wanted to see the doctor. I never received a test result that i believed i was going to my f/u visit to discuss. The staff shuffles you around from room to room like you know where you are supposed to go and look at you like you are crazy because you don't know where you are supposed to be. The ultra sound tech made my daughter feel very uncomfortable and continued to explain to her things in Spanish after my daughter advised her that she was not fluent in Spanish. I just came back from the office after showing up for my visit to find out that the provider that they bill under passed away and the provider we would see was non par with my insurance and i would be charged double my copay. This was very upsetting because they could have advise me of this issue prior to me showing up the day before when they confirmed my appointment. So not only… are we in a crisis and should not be going out. I had to drive more than 30 minutes to the office to find out that they were no longer contracted with my insurance. And since they office is so hectic and unprofessional i cancelled my appointment and will not be going back there.

Just the smartest doctor I ever met. I move far into north Florida I don’t see her any more... but i sure miss you dr Hoover

The doctor and medical assistants prescribe tests and medications without listening to the patient. They just want to get you in and out quickly to bill the insurance. Don't waste your time going to this medical office.

Awesome be in this office

This office runs worse than the DMV. Staff tries to be nice, but the way the office is run, makes the employees look stupid and lazy. Dr. Hoover your reputation is going down the drain. Your lobby will get more and more empty if you do not improve quickly. 4 emails and 3 calls just to request a med list. Some lame office manager named Betty that works from home, never returns calls. This office make me chuckle in amazement on how poorly it is run. Yikes!

I am a new patient. Asked for an appointment with Dr. Hoover. Two days later I went, sat in the reception room for over an hour and overheard another patient saying that she was on vacation. Asked the receptionist only to hear "oh..yes Dr. Hoover is not here"..what??? I made the appointment with the Dr..."oh..no..you will be seen by an assistant! rescheduled to give the whole thing one more chance...

Office called to say I had abnormal test results, but wouldn't say what the results were unless I made another appointment. Also, the prescription they wrote was not in Dr. Hoover's name, but in the name of a doctor I had never seen. Person who handed me the prescription said that that was because my insurance was being billed by the other doctor, which seemed super fishy. Also, there's some sort of vitamin IV facility inside the facility, which Dr. Hoover prescribed unnecessary treatment for to my husband (he didn't take it). Guy next to me when I was having my blood drawn was getting that treatment and getting prescriptions for percocet and aderall (which I know because there's no patient privacy). It's clearly being run to make as much money as possible (can't fault anyone for that), but it's affecting patient care, which is a shame, because she used to be a decent doctor.

I have gone to dr Hoover 7 times in the past 12 months. I wait about one hour or less. This is a walk in clinic. She asks what brings you in today. I might say a sore throat and a rash. She looks and gives you a diagnosis and writes a prescription. She give a brief diagnosis and will expand explain more if you ask. She looked at my blood work and said beecause I was deficient in 3 categories she recommended more blood work She connected the dots. Very satisfied with her broad medical knowledge. She is gone in 60 seconds or 5 minutes. Depending on your problem or to explain in detail. She is quick but through. I like her a great deal I recommend her to my friends
