Dr. Nirav Gupta, DO

My husband's personal experiences with Dr Gupta: Dr G performed a Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement in March, 2022. The shoulder dislocated within weeks of surgery. In May Dr G performed a “Revision” surgery. My husband was in Recovery when it dislocated again. During office visits, Dr G rarely looked up from his computer or put a hand on him to examine the shoulder. My husband wound up with a raging infection. After admitting he did not know what went wrong, Dr G sent us to UF. My husband had to endure yet another surgery, the third in 9 months. He was already in a wheelchair and was now reduced to the use of a single arm because of the irreparable damage caused by Dr G. Any activity was incredibly difficult and stressful on his body. He recently passed away from heart failure, and in my opinion, losing the use of an arm b/c of Dr Gupta’s two failed surgeries led to his DEATH last month. In our opinion and experience, Dr Gupta is uncaring, incompetent and arrogant.

Dr. Gupta I praise your knowledge and expertise. I would not have full use of my right arm if your total reverse shoulder surgery hadn't been successful. To date I am 2 yrs out post surgery and the prosthesis is excellant. I have the normal discomfort occasionally however nothing great. My hospital experience however was a nightmare. Pain controll should have been addressed immediately in the middle of the night. It was unbearable and I passed out from the excruciating horrifying pain that meds didnt keep in check. I was miserable for hours awaiting another order for something to help. This should be addressed for the need of other patients. I would highly recommend Dr. Gupta for anyone's surgery and need such as mine. The f/u visits are great, takes time for all questions, very caring, and professional. Staff has been very courteous and just overall awesome. I cant thank all enough for my over all care.

canceled my appt , but they keep calling me and telling me to go to the portal , and leave no message this is dumb , I dont want to make a password for a company that has horrible service , and dont understand why dont they just leave a message !

I got stuck with Dr. Gupta , when I was admitted into the hospital after falling down and broke my knee,and was told that I would be fine with a little rehab on a 7mm break, when surgery should have been done immediately, each time he came into my room,was there less than a minute and never looked at my leg once, would not touch me, had to go to another Dr. To have full knee replacement, you would be better off going to a veterinarian than taking your love one here, he is as disgusting as thay come !!!

Dr. Gupta inserted the wrong size joint to replace in my hand. I had to go to another surgeon to have the surgery again with a smaller implant. Very painful, expensive, and a lot of lost work time to get same procedure repeated. Do not go to this surgeon for intricate hand surgery.

Dr. Gupta performed surgery on my son's hand. He did an excellent job! My son is back to full capacity. I would and have HIGHLY recommended him to family and friends.

I have connective tissue disease and have had 8 trigger finger releases. I needed the surgery to relieve the pain and to keep the tendon from rupture. This good doctor instructed his staff not to make an appointment until I would wait a month to get a referral from my primary care doctor then, he would schedule an appointment to look at the finger. It would have been two month before I would have ever got the surgery I needed. It became clear he didn't care about the pain the patient experiences or of further damage results from waiting.
