Dr. William Gaya, MD

I was told by his office that I would need a referral to be seen and after specifically asking if the referral could be from my chiropractor as this is who I am seeing for my care until I can find a decent PCP in my area I was told I just needed a referral from any doctor. After spending time and money to get the referral and contacting his office multiple times to make sure I was doing everything correctly now I’m told (2.5 weeks into this process) that he will not take my referral and will not see me because I don’t have a PCP currently and he feels I may not have continuity of care (so refuse to treat people because you think they may not follow up on your recommendation!?). I do have the correct insurance, I do have many medical records that were requested to be sent to him, I do have access to a doctor and alternate care if he thinks I needs treatment that is not neurological. Why did you waste my time and money? Why are you creating barriers to providing medical treatment? Why… did you take the hippocratic oath since you clearly are not interested in helping people?!

During covid problem, I was consulting with him on the phone for my visit. We were cut off . He never called back. I called and the secretary said that he had gone on to see other patients and was through with my call. I never heard from him again.

You always hear about how awful it is to be minimized or ignored by your doctor but I never had to experience that quite like I did wit Dr Gaya. I have been constantly dizzy (disequilibrium) for 6 months, to the point that I have a really hard time functioning, and he told me the problem was my blood pressure. This was understandable at first since, for some reason, my bp skyrocketed in his office (I think it was because I was really nervous.) I told him it was not typically high at all. He would not believe me. I told him I had recently seen a cardiologist and he was not concerned about my bp. He still did not believe me. (I have since bought a bp cuff to do a bp diary because it was so high a his office and my bps border on LOW at home. 110's over 60's.) I asked him about the PROFOUND fatigue that I started experiencing with the dizziness. He suggested that it was because I'm out of shape. Well I AM out of shape. But that's not new and this extreme fatigue is! He had me get blood… work done. I saw my primary care dr before I saw Dr Gaya and she talked with me about some irregularities in it about which I should talk with my neurologist. He said my blood work was normal. He had me get a couple other evaluations and at my second appt he asked me if I had done them yet. So I guess he didn't see the report(s) much less read them! There are a million simple neurological evaluations that one can do and all he did was have me walk and check my reflexes. (My CARDIOLOGIST performed a simple neuro eval called the Romberg Test that Dr Gaya didn't bother with.) I wrote a list of what I was experiencing, to make sure I didn't forget anything, and showed it to my PCP and the cardiologist, both of whom read it and added it to my chart. Dr Gaya didn't even want to look at it. At my follow-up he didn't seem to even remember why I was seeing him. I don't expect him to remember every little thing, but he obviously didn't even bother to glance at my chart before walking in. Throughout the initial and follow-up visit, he minimized what I was trying to tell him about my symptoms and seemed to think that I was being ridiculous. This constant dizziness has been an absolute nightmare. But these experiences with Dr. Gaya finally pushed me over the edge from struggling to feeling devastated.

I been seeing dr gaya for several months, never have had a problem with him, to be honest, he has been doing more for me than my family dr . I don't recommend dr Claudine fredricks I will continue to see dr Gaya for all my pain help, he sets up my test more than my pc dr

Excellent physician with time for his patients and doesn't rush you out until all your questions are answered. Follows up on recommended procedures. I hand picked him from knowing him when I was working as a nurse. Good Choice. Mousey

Great communication. Always see Dr. Gaya and not an assistant. Informative. Active listener.

Went to visit for something, wrote test, mri worth $10000. Insurance not honored, pay him up first and then he will talk. Wrote MRI from head to toe; with that philosophy I can be a neurologist. Left after one visit and had to refund me part of what I paid. Will never recommend him as a doctor.

After having an absolutely horrible experience at Dr. Lance Kim's practice (poor bedside manner, rude nurse, inaccurate diagnosis, inappropriate conversation re: what to do with my son for his care, No input from patient..etc...)I decided I had enough of putting up with that. I found Dr. Gaya as a referral to where I work from one of my patients. I immediately called to see if my son's insurance was accepted and to ask when i could make an appt. My son was having seizures multiple times on a daily basis. When we got there the staff was prompt, courteous & friendly. The wait time was about 15 minutes but i was just so glad to get an appointment it was fine. Not too long of a wait. Upon meeting the Dr. for the first time, he was wonderful. Friendly with a personable demeanor. He asked how he could help us instead of God forbid we ask a question about my own son's condition and treatment and get a dirty look. He asked questions and history and together we put the pieces together. On the… first visit he gave my son a diagnosis & a script for some meds that seem to actually work not months on end with no answers and rude comments & still my son was suffering. We were so happy and relieved that we finally had some answers. We followed up with my sons psychiatrist like Dr. Gaya suggested & he also has a back up plan in place in case this fails just to be on the safe side & so far all is well. I would like to say a big thank you to Dr. Gaya. There is nothing worse than watching your child suffer and not be able to help him. I would definately recommend this doctor.

He's a neurologist, but for some reason, he wanted to talk about my boobs and libido. He didn't want to do any testing for my problems. He didn't know what was wrong with me and he even told me so. We got in an argument about his professionalism. I wouldn't take a dead dog to him. I found me a good neurologist; I have to travel, but he's taking care of me. I would NOT recommend Dr Gaya to anyone. I've worked in the medical field for 25 years so I know a good doctor when I see one. And he is by far one of the worst doctors I've ever been to.
