She's Great

...no make that a great doctor! Our first appointment we only waited about 5 minutes, I think we were the first patient of the day and it lasted almost 4 hours long. She is the very first dr to sit down, ask questions to not only me, but straight to my daughter as well and then actually LISTEN! She did a couple of test right in her office and gave us the results right away. She asked questions other drs have never asked before and things I never would have thought to be important. We did not leave that day with a Dx, my daughter is still a work in progress, but I am confident that Dr. Malkin will get to the bottom of what ever is happening with my daughter. The follow up apptmt was not as long, maybe around 2 hours, a couple more tests and more questions were being answered. We are still in the process of waiting for results to come back and in the meantime, she took my daughters file with her to a meeting of the minds (of sorts) with top doctors from Columbia Pres, NYU and the like… to discuss her case together. If you are like me with City health insurance, you HAVE to go out of network to find a good specialist. She is worth it.I almost gave up and almost believed what the last Neuro said...."Your daughter is fine....she needs dicipline, put her in karate" (This coming from a so-called professional knowing that my daughter also has Chiari Malformation I). I am so glad we didn't stick with Dr. Wolfe and his "Assistant".Getting an appointment was easy as well, I gave 4 stars because you just have to know that when you are looking for ANY Neuro you are going to have to wait around a month, no matter who it is with.Bottom line, I very highly recommend Dr. Malkin for your child especially if you have been turned away or disregarded by other Neurologists. You will be confident knowing that she did not stop searching for the answer.

Plan to spend most of the day on your initial visit especially if your child is having an EEG. You don't leave w/o Dr Malkin reviewing and explaining the test results. You will go home w/ a diagnosis and treatment plan. Spent one hour w/ parents while child was being evaluated for cognitive and educational level.
