Dr. Elias N Nasr, MD

I should have known from the first visit that this was not the doctor for me. He had asked me how old I was during my first exam and I told him my age, no problem. But during the Q&A session at the end of the appointment I asked him why he had asked that, understanding that there must have been a medical reason for the question. His response was an irritated "I don't just ask questions to ask questions, I ask them for a reason". This was the first indicator that this was not the doctor for me.The day of my procedure he was 45 minutes late. I understand doctors are busy and it happens, but when he showed up there was no "sorry I am late I got hung up on another procedure" he just looked at my chart and got ready to go. He did not ask if I had any questions or if any of my symptoms had changed, nothing. I initiated the questions by asking what procedure he was going to do first the scope that we had discussed or the surgery to fix the problem we thought was causing the issue. He… looked up at me and asked almost angrily "Why". This did not sit well with me and I made it pretty clear. During the scope which came first he discovered a potential disease that caused him to not perform the second part of the operation. He told me they had found something and were going to take a biopsy of it and run some tests. About this same time I was beginning to feel some pain and they put me the rest of the way under. When I woke up in the recovery room the nurse told me that the Dr. was in the waiting room talking to my wife. He was not and never did. They also told me that he would be around shortly to talk to me. He never showed up! I was in the hospital another three hours waiting for the anesthesia to wear off talking to nurses trying to get information on the disease he thought he had found with not much success. When I returned home I began to look it up and it is not good. There is no cure and it basically ruins some peoples lives. There are treatments depending upon the amount it has affected but it takes a doctor telling you the findings of the test. This guy told me nothing! He did not tell me what to do in the meantime, suggested diet, possible causes, common problems associated, how bad it looked, what side of the organ was effected, nothing because he never came back. I will be voicing my frustration with him during my next visit and getting my medical records and finding another doctor. I would not recommend him to anyone, ever.
