Dr. Evan Lloyd Flatow, MD

Dr Flatow came highly recommended: "The King of Jordan was his patient". He may have been a good surgeon once but not any more. He overruled his partner's diagnose and treatment proposal, missed a non-union of my broken clavicle. Didn't order a CT scan, didn't order EMG to see if there's nerve issue related to the non-union, instead proposed rotator cuff surgery! The delay is having a permanent effect. Every doctor makes mistake once in a while. But to have missed multiple symptoms that clearly point to the same issue is a clear sign he's no longer fit to practice medicine. When I went to get a second opinion, this is what the 2nd surgeon said "No wonder he's now a hospital administrator!" Except he uses his senior status to bully other doctors in the practice, compounding his errors!

God. Awful. Avoid at all costs. Find someone else.

Dr Flatow operated on my shoulder after I had been to several doctors and varied opinions on how to handle. My shoulder is like new, which is a miracle since I had a badly torn rotator cuff, torn in 3 places. I highest recommend Dr Flatow

Dr Flatow saw me for a second opinion on a previous surgery that failed me. After he operated on me I had full motion that very night. That was hours after he operated and therapy I was good..this Dr knows how to examine you too.

Had an appointment and referral, arrived on time and in hour and a half that followed he did not find time to see me. Interns are running the show, however the big cheese has to approve the diagnosis. I'm still confused if he is so senile that he forgot that I was there all that time, or more plausible explanation that he is just full of it. Not such great doctor to be worth the aggravation or time.

Staff were so unprofessional especially the technicians. The billing department is also inaccurate and overbills you.

I had shoulder surgery in 1988 for a rotor cuff tear. Dr. Flatow did the surgery. It was successful with no problems. Now in 2010 I had another rotor cuff tear and had surgery from a doctor in Virginia Beach, VA. This doctor operated on me 3 times and screwed up my shoulder and my arm permanently. This doctor didn't know what he was doing. I wish I could have Dr. Flatow fix my problem but my insurance company wouldn't allow me to get a doctor in another State. If I had my choice I would only let Dr. Flatow operate on me. He did a great job on my shoulder in 1988 and he is the best doctor that I know of for a rotor cuff tear.

dr flatow made a severe, permanent mistake during a routine shoulder arthroscopy. I WOULD URGE YOU TO SELECT ANOTHER SURGEON. flatow tore a hole thru my infraspinatus and nicked my suprascapular nerve. he did not admit that he did this, nor did he apologize. i was left in intense, constant pain for a year - finally a different surgeon was able to correct flatow's mistake to improve my condition. unfortunately the nerve damage flatow caused still persist. i was a former Olympic hopeful, and dr. flatow took away all of my Olympic dreams. heartbreaking to have this happen by someone who can so highly recommended. he butchered my shoulder. choose another doc that won't.

Not very religious anymore after the surgery. I went in with minor pain, & Dr Flatow destroyed my shoulder for life. Took it upon himself to play God, & had his way with the game. This is a real live Butcher. Go to anyone first, if you believe in God, you wont after the surgery.
