Dr. Faris Abusharif, MD

Like other patients may say, years ago Dr. Abusharif was very good! He actually was the ONLY doctor who told my husband what was going on after his failed fusion by Dr. Thomas Hurley at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL. After 14 months of Hurley telling us that the fusion was healing just fine, my husband’s pain said otherwise! Doctors at Rush, Northwestern, Loyola just rolled their eyes at the new images and said there was nothing they could do - because they refused to fix another surgeon’s screw up! But their expressions told us all we needed to know. Dr. Abusharif told us that all of the instruments put into my husband’s back were now - after 14 months - floating around and banging down on good tissue, damaging nerves and discs irreparably! In addition, my husband is 6’4” and the surgeon should have done a double sided cage; he did not. So, yes, Dr. Abusharif saved my husband and referred him to a correction surgeon. Upshot is that my husband has been disabled ever since… Hurley destroyed him! He was supposed to go back to work after eight weeks. He has never been back to work. Not only that, my husband lives on pain meds and all of this has destroyed our lives!! Since Hurley did this to him, there has been NO intimacy in our marriage - pick a reason, pain, meds, instability, you name it - he destroyed our lives!! Dr. Abusharif helped my husband for so long but then came the DEA and everything was ruined! His staff are brutal, the office was a mess, and the doctor literally F’d over his patients. But what ya gonna do?! So no, at this time, this doctor does NOT have his license to practice nor prescribe. Go somewhere else.

I have been seeing Dr. Abusharif for many years. He decided to do procedures awhile ago. Living off pills for pain is not the answer. He did the Vertiflex procedure on me and my pain is gone. I don’t care about some issues he has with prescribing. He will resolve them. He is a great doctor and he does care about people.

I'm 73 years old and my experience with Dr Abusharif has been nothing but great! He helped me with fibromyalgia, chronic migraines and also my pain from recurring sciatic pain. As far as I'm concerned, he's the best pain specialist I have had in YEARS. He took time to see how I was feeling and knew exactly where to place the trigger point injections, etc. I would highly recommend Dr. Abusharif!

This doctor is a criminal. He has lost his license to prescribe medication and he and his office staff are lying to their patients about it, saying there is a computer error. He is a cowardly, lying, selfish drug addict and has ruined the lives of many patients. RUN AWAY.

I agree 100% with every negative review. What started out years ago as a positive has down graded itself to big negative. Staff flows through there so fast and the attention from Dr. Abusharif has been deleted because he only wants to do procedures. He dumped all his patients without a care as to who would help them with their withdrawal distress. A wasted career.

I’ve been seeing Dr Abusharif for a number of years. I have a lot of complications, but he knows exactly how to help with my pain. He is kind, very caring, and so compassionate. I had seen other pain management drs, but I would never go to anyone else since I found him. He’s the best.

I've been seeing dr faris for 6 years. He has helped me so much with my pain. He takes the time to listen and is compassionate. I trust him so much with my injections.

i wrote a review about this socalled phscian and it was removed. I have seen the office of Dr, Abushariff go down hill you wait 3 to4 hrs to see him usually his nurse will see you. He left me with an open wound on my back from a staple removal and had to go to ER it had drained for 3 days. When i tried to make an appt. to see the md i was put on hold and was hung up on they never called me back. In my career of being a nurse i have never seen or worked with such a physcian who has such a lack of empathy and caring for his patients. His staff is rude and gossip about the patients and their illnesses there goes patient coinfidentialty all of the great doctors who were there have left, leaving the patients in the care of this doctor who only cares about monetary gain, RUN DO NOT WALK AWAY from this office , it is a disaster waiting to happen!!!!!!!!

I am a patient of Dr Abushariff well former pt. I have been going to the pain clinic for years and i have witnessed the changes that have occured over these last months not only have the wonderful caring doctors have left who really cared about their patients but the change in the staff. The receptionist Samantha is extremely rude along with the other staff members who by the way gossip about the patients so there goes the confidenality of pts and their illnesses to other staff members. Now the wait time of appointments is anywhere from 3 to 4 hrs, they wi-ell cancel appts, change appt times ect. without notifying the pts. I decided to have the spinal cord stimulator remove after 2 years because it wasn't functioning anymore i meet with the different staff from Nevro to try to correct the problem but were unable to do so, so I saw no reason to keep the device in. I meet with Dr. Abushariff and a appt. was made to have it removed. Due to miscommunication the appt. was for the… surgery not correct and the staff never got back to me about lab work, chest xray, and 12 lead ekg wasn't done until Monday the day before my appt. on Tues at 10 am I was told at 6pm that day that i needed medical and cardiac clearance, it was too late to contact my other doctors to get clearance that i needed for the surgery and the surgery was canceled until the following Tues. I received a ph. cal from Samantha that i had to pay a fee to Dr. Abushariff for his time. I refused and since then their treatment of myself has gotten worse. The surgery was finaly done and i got to the suricenter at 8;30 am I got home at 4pm because the nurse was unable to locate the Dr and paged him multiple times also another pt. was there since 7am also waiting. That day i received some bad news and was visibly upset, when the Dr, got there when i was in the holding area he told me that i should of cancelled my surgery and was acting like a child who was having a temper tatrumand then proceeded to shuffle the chart and papers around and slammed the chart shut andtod me he refused to do my surgery and walkedaway leaving me there sitting on the cart. After waiting 15 minutes I asked the nurse if he was gong to do the surgery and she said yes. I got home at 4pm. on Tuesday and was told to see him in a week and get the staples removed, i went to the office on Thursday because my appt. had been changed. I waited another 3 -4 hrs when the nurse finally removed the staples of which some had some of them had skin overgrown over the staples. She put steristrips over the incision and then Dr. came in looked at the inscion and I went home. Friday nite the inscion opened up and was draining ,I took care of the inscion putting antibiotic oint. and bandaids over the open areas ------ae-s- i called on Monday to make an appt. and asked if i would have to wait for 3 hrs. and if i was i would go to the ER, at which point i was told to do whatever i wanted. I was told to call back at 2:30 and see if he could see me. At the ER the Dr. cleansed the area and put new steri strips and told me to see Dr, Abushariff in 2 days when i called to make the appot. i was put on hold for 10 min. and was disconnect and never received a call back. I am seeing my primary physcian DR. Styka who is a wonderful doctor to follow up with. The reason i have made this type of review is to warn and let people who would concider going to see this so called MD not to do so. He is only interested in doing procedures where he can have financial gain he has no empathy or regard for his pts. he is the worse Dr,. I have ever seen or worked with in my life. RUN DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM THIS PERSON----- also how this doctor has gotten awards is beyond me. Please do not take yourself or any loved ones to see him. it's a mistake in my opinion that office and DR. are a disaster waiting to happen and this site does not condone any opinions given here. It's to rate the type of care you have been given by the Doctors, well this is my opinion. Thank you

I have delt with doctors for 50 years. This Dr. is the best in my top 10. He can only control so much of his staff-he is the DOCTOR, hopefully you can deal with unprofessional staff to see the great man.
