Dr. Garron Gordon Weiker, MD

I was Dr Weiker’s very first secretary. Later I went into nursing I cannot praise Dr Weiker enough. I recall the early science that became the Harrington Rod and his research on scoliosis. Most of “our scoliosis patients” were young teens and he was so wonderful helping the teens through the surgery and rehab. He had a special skill with teens. A man I will never forget. Dr Weiker was the first surgeon to cut into me and he did a great job. I played sports at Cathedral Latin HS when he was at CCF and right before he went to to work for the Cleveland Browns. While playing I had multiple knee(s) injuries that led to knee reconstruction and finally total replacement of both in my later years. I remember him as very caring and explained what was going on and what he expected as far as rehab. Great Doc and I wish him well.

In 1982 after several years of treatment, Dr Weiker preformed surgery on my back. 2 Harrington rods were placed in my spine to straighten it up as much as possible. My spine was crushing my lungs and heart from double curve scoliosis. I was 12. I have never had a greater dr than he. He was great to me and my family and because of him, I’ve been able to do things most people can’t do. Thank you Dr Weiker I will forever be greatful

Dr. Garron Weiker performed patella centralization surgery on both of my knees in the mid 90’s. He did a wonderful job and my knees are still feeling pretty good 20+ years later. Not only is he a fantastic doctor, but he has a great personality. Truly enjoyed this man! Thanks Dr. Weiker!

I was seen by Dr. Weiker at the Cleveland Clinic in 1989-1990 while I was a resident physician there, for a left knee injury following a fall on a wet floor at the Cleveland Clinic. I wanted to see him because at the time I understood that he was the official orthopedist for the Cleveland Browns so he had to be good. His tests showed that I had a meniscal tear causing my pain and swelling. When I inquired about surgical correction, he replied that, since I was just a medical resident and not a professional sports star, I didn't need to have my knee fixed and could learn to live with it. Of course, I felt that I had as much right to a healthy knee as a professional athlete and tried to get a second opinion. When Dr. Weiker learned of my plans, HE TRIED TO HAVE ME THROWN OUT OF MY RESIDENCY PROGRAM, thus ending my employment and my career. Luckily, he did not succeed, and now I am working as a physician myself. Years later, I did end up getting my knee problem surgically corrected and am… now capable once again of doing squats and lunges and restrengthening my knee. I guess I owe Dr. Weiker some gratitude for teaching me how NOT to practice medicine!
