Dr. Ghazi Asaad, MD

As a long member of the Newtown Police Department and part time Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police, Dr Asaad was the only MD to correctly diagnose my bleak changes in life. I was 27. Prior to seeing Dr Asaad, I went to the ER numerous times explaining my symptoms of fatigue, neck and shoulder stiffness, perfuse sweating and stomach cramps. Blood Tested were completed again and again on many occasions. The outcome of the tests revealed by my blood work, that as one Dr stated “These are the best blood results id ever seen.” I believed that was because I ate healthy lifted and ran three miles every other day. I did not know why I had extreme fatigue, and painful body aches. An old experienced Doctor, who understood I’ve been at the hospital many times, Advised my this may not be a physical medical issue. He advised me that after going through some hard personal and work related times, my body and brain me be over loaded. He recommends I see a psychiatrist and I… immediately rejected that idea in fear of losing my career as a police officer. As symptoms worsened, I saw Dr Asaad in 1999. I walked in and he had a very friendly smile and told me to sit down ... as soon as he asked what was going on, I bursted our crying saying my body is not working right and after several visits to danbury hospital, they said I did not have any physical medical problems. I asked Dr Asaad if he was going to make me quit my career as a police officer. Dr Asaad put me on two Medications and comforted me and my situation. Dr Asaad said that I was going to feel happy within two weeks on the medications. After taking the medications, I immediately felt the pain in my body stop. After I got my energy back, I led a successful career in police work and also became a Connecticut Police Academy Instructor. I continued as a police Officer for 8 more years, until, unfortunately the continued stress, meds not working and subsequently took early retirement. As of 2020, I am still treated by Dr Asaad, and has successfully helped me deal with my diagnosis. Dr Asaad is a humanitarian, who cares about all his patients ...
