Dr. Glen Howard Silas, MD

Dr. Silas is INCREDIBLE. My prior OBGYN retired and I was in search of a new provider to take on my care. Dr. Silas has exceptional patient care and beside manner. He should be an example of how every provider interacts and cares for their patients. I feel safe and respected with Dr. Silas. He takes time to address my concerns, never diminishes or rushes me, and provides proper next steps for care.

I wish all doctors learn from Dr Silas and what it means to have the best bedside manners.

Dr. Silas himself is amazing, but unfortunately, this practice is awful to deal with, so I recommend choosing a different practice. They do not answer their phones, the staff does not do what they say they will do, and pray you don't have an emergency because absolutely nothing will be done for you. No one on their staff does their job well and their management is non-existent. There is no accountability and no one, including the physicians, call you back. Do not go through the angst and stress of trying to go to this practice, choose another one!

One of my favorite doctors!! Dr Silas always takes his time and listens to my concerns during appointments. He answers all my questions and never makes me feel rushed. I know he truly cares about me as a patient. He is funny and kind! Highly recommend!

He's awesome!! What I love about him is that he doesn't sugar coat anything and tells you straight up what he thinks without being insensitive. Other doctors show no emotion and seem like they don't even enjoy their job, and are in a rush to get out the room. Dr. Silas makes me feel comfortable, he sits down with me and actually converses with me, asks me how i'm feeling, my husband even likes him too! He shows that he actually cares about my health, my baby, and my concerns. I have a scheduled c-section coming up with him and feeling pretty confident.

Dr Glen Silas is a wonderful gynecologist. He is a great listener and is very respectful to both of my daughters (ages 21 and 17). I highly recommend him. Finding a competent and kind doctor isn’t easy. I trust him completely with my girls!

Dr. Glen Silas is truly outstanding, absolutely the best doctor you could ask for! He is an extremely intelligent, a compassionate and caring person. I'm so blessed for having met him. I am forever thankful to him and I am definitely a forever patient!

Dr. Silas puts the 'care' in healthcare. Sadly, modern medicine has steered away from actually caring for the patient but Dr. Silas has proven that is not the case everywhere. He has a great sense of compassion and truly cares about the person that is his patient. Very personable and takes the time to explain things in depth. Very approachable and answers questions in 'laymans' terms. Excellent at the hospital and also at office visits. Hands down -- fantastic!

The past two times I visited both their Fairfax and Fair Oaks locations and the receptionists don't even acknowledge that I am there. Both times, the glass partition was pulled closed and the receptionists were talking with each other and completely ignoring the patients. Speaking with the receptionists on the phone is unpleasant as well. When I asked why they keep calling only my home number with test results right before they close their offices for the day the receptionist snapped back, "Well, the doctor did try to call you." The receptionists at both the Fairfax and Fair Oaks offices are not very professional and have very little sensitivity towards the patients they serve. The only reason why I deal with them at all is because Dr. Glen Silas is worth it. He is a fantastic doctor with a wonderful bedside manner. He is gentle, knowledgeable, and kind. My main problem with this practice is their follow-through with test results. I have chronic problems with cervical cancer and two… times now I have been given the run-around concerning my test results. If I have cancer, I want to know as soon as possible and I do not want to have an insensitive receptionist snapping back at me that I will have to wait one more day because the doctor is making his rounds at the hospital. I would have liked to hear, "I will leave the doctor a message and if he has time, he will call you back today." Honestly, there is only one receptionist at the Fairfax office that I have talked with on the phone who was caring and professional. Otherwise, they are not a good first impression of Capital Women's Care.

I had severe Endo at a young age and he was with me every step of the way. He did all he could and is so intelligent regarding his field. I could go on and on. Would recommend him to all types of women. He's such a compassionate person & doctor. I've been seeing him for 6years now. I don't regret one thing about having him care for me or perform any of my surgeries. I trust him completely!! :-)
