Dr. Heather Michelle Metchick, MD

I made an appointment with Dr. Metchick for September 2024. The day before a hurricane was hitting our area the staff called to say all appointments cancelled and they would call me back the next week to reschedule. No call back ever. I called a month later and could not get another appointment until January 23rd. With their Nurse practitioner. I told them at the time my insurance was changing to Humana. I show up for my appointment Today and am turned away because the dr decided not to take any more Humana patients. The person at the desk said I called on 1/1/25 and told them I had another new insurance. Who works on January 1st. That was completely untrue. So glad I found out now what this practice is like. Shame on all of them!

I have not seen Dr Metchick. She maybe a fantastic Dr. for all I know. However trying to speak to a staff member / front office is impossible. After finally speaking with a receptionist, I was sent new patient paperwork by email to fill out. I completed the paperwork and brought the forms to the office in person. I was referred to Dr Metchick by my primary Dr because of post menopausal bleeding and concerning results of a pelvic sonogram. The receptionist was not very welcoming and told me the earliest appt she could give me was 6 weeks away. I asked her even with the issues I am having I cant be seen sooner? The answer was NO- however they would call me if there was a cancellation. The receptionist made me feel like she was doing me a favor. I walked out of that office feeling awful. Later that day I called a much larger established practice with several Dr's each with over 32 yrs experience. When I explained my situation to the receptionist she was very concerned and was able to… get me an appt in 3 days. It is doubtful Dr Metchick will ever know of this situation.

Always on time and they take the time to hear your issues. For me they really understand post menopausal issues and after a couple months on the rx I felt like myself again.truly understand female issues. I put they because I mostly see the nurse practitioner who is super knowledgeable and nice.

I had been diagnosed with a cyst on my ovary. Dr. Metchick examined me and said I need to have surgery. She quickly scheduled me and I had my surgery at the Advent Health day surgery in New Smyrna. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The surgery was very quick with no problems. Dr. Metchick reported to my husband that I was good and said I would be out after recovery. I went home with out any problems. I was able to go back to my regular activities after 48 hours and I am very pleased with everything Dr. Metchick and her staff did for me. Follow up was scheduled for the following week.

I am a patient of Dr. Metchick, trying to set up an appointment for a prescription refill. When calling, I either receive a recorded message offering to call me back (which so far has not happened), or I am referred to the answering service. I am not at all happy with the people who are supposed to take patient calls for Dr. Metchick.

WORST MEDICAL PRACTICE EVER! Incompetent staff. I was referred to Dr. Metchick who I never saw. I was quoted $250 for initial visit since I don't have health ins. Upon checkout I was charged $427 since I had a "consultation." Then I received another bill for $128. $250 became $555. Office Mgr told me I discussed hot flashes & that it's expensive to go to nursing school & the receptionist misquoted me. No accountability there at all with this practice.

I had been bleeding after menopause I called for an appointment front desk told me it was nothing to worry about. I finally got an appointment dr said nothing to worry about and bleeding did stop. I moved back to Pittsburgh 2 years later I’m bleeding again go to 2 drs they both told me bleeding after menopause is cancer unless proved otherwise. Had biopsy it was cancer. Had a total hysterectomy endometrial cancer. Please if you suspect you may have cancer do not go to her

Scheduling and advising patient of changes needs to be better

She is the most caring doctor I have ever seen. She handled my surgery very well and took extra care during the post op due to unforeseen circumstances. I would recommend her to my family and friends and I would trust her again with my health issues. She captured my heart. Not only is she the best Gyne doctor, she is a wonderful person who cares so much for her patient. I have never in my life come across a doctor ever so kind, explanatory in all concerns, and puts her heart into her work like this Dr. Metchick.

Dr. Metchick is a doctor who really cares. It is very clear in her attitude and the way she treats her patients. She is unbelievably kind and compassionate and takes the time to let you know what is going on with your health. She has a very busy office and her staff is very professional and sensitive to the patient's needs.
