Dr. Imelda Cellestin Udo, MD

I cried when I found out this doctor was the one on call during my induction. During my appts with her, and subsequently during the start of my labor, she was cold as ice (zero bedside manner), dismissive, and looks at you as you ask questions like you’re a complete moron.

I saw Dr. Udo a couple times during my pregnancy. Every time she was not patient answering my questions. She prescribed some medicine for me, and mentioned not to follow the direction of the medicine, but didn't give instruction on how to use it formally. She didn't return my calls about this medicine. In my opinion, this behavior is unprofessional.

I went to Dr. Udo a couple of years ago...before even examining me she said I might have cancer (I don’t). When performing a procedure for a biopsy, she and her assistant talked and laughed through the whole thing, as if I wasn’t even there. I did write and call to voice my concerns.

Met Imelda C. Udo, M.D. FACOG one time, and I hope to not meet with her again. She was not understanding or helpful. During my one appointment with her, when I was undressed waste down, she had me move to the end of the bench with my feet in the stirrups, and told me the nurse would be coming in and to not be startled. She was having me spread my knees apart, but I waited until the nurse came in the room because I didn’t want to flash the entire hallway! I mean it is what it is, but definitely not very considerate of my privacy. Later the next week I was calling the office to ask for advice on how I was feeling, and when I was 38 weeks pregnant, her response (Communicating through the nurse) was for me to just go to the hospital. After denying the need to go 2 times because I was not in labor, after the third time, I agreed to stop by after work. I an extremely awkward visit to hospital, because it was not appropriate to be there, and I should have been allowed to be seen by a… normal practitioner within the practice. The man in the hospital explained that I didn’t need to be seen, and that I would have a large hospital bill, that wasn’t necessary. For some reason, it seems like Udo wanted to nail me with a hospital bill? Not sure what I did to her, besides have one appointment with her. I would NOT recommend her, and I am very sad writing this, but I don’t want something like this to happen to someone else, especially during such important times in women’s lives! (Care during pregnancy, difficulty conceiving, other womenly difficulties etc.) I was very upset by this experience because I have loved all the other people at Capital Women’s Care in Eldersburg, and Westminster. I’m not sure what I did to Udo to have been treated how I was.

Imelda C. Udo recommended and performed an 'emergency' DNC (using ultrasound) for my wife. In a follow-up visit 2 weeks after surgery, my wife's pregnancy hormones were still high, but Udo avoided answering any questions. A significant hemorrhage from the vagina followed. We called Udo's office and they proposed that 'she was probably having her first period'. About 2 cups of blood later, the hemorrhaging let up. We naively reckoned it was her body releasing all of the pregnancy stress. Another week passed, and another large hemorrhage, including fist sized clots. Something was very wrong. We tried scheduling another appointment to get answers, but she was out of the office (and would be for a month). We proceeded to find a better doctor to fix the mess. New doctor found that she did not remove all uterine tissue, and recommended another surgery, to fix Udo's left-overs. After surgery he noted that she previously missed a lot. New doctor did not use ultrasound during surgery. This… surgery was successful, but we're still dealing with Udo's aftermath. In short, Udo did not complete a DNC on my wife. She avoided answering (mine and) my wife's questions at regular follow-up. She was Unresponsive and unhelpful in an emergency resulting from her surgery, and never called my wife back, even after a month?! I STRONGLY SUGGEST looking elsewhere for competent, professional care.

Dr. Udo always gives me plenty of time to ask questions and seems genuinely concerned about my feelings. After a hysterectomy, when the Staples were removed, my wound opened up MASSIVELY! Dr. Udo was the one that stood there and held my stomach closed while emergency actions were taken. She didn't know me from anyone but she was one of the first ones there to help. I will always be appreciative of her skill as well as her manner.

Very attentive and is never intimidating. Performs a thorough exam prenatally and always takes time to answer questions and be available. Looks out for both Mom and baby in labor and delivery.

Dr udo was on call when I was induced, lets just say I never saw her until AFTER my son was born. I was admitted at 9am and dr ballas was there gave me pitocin broke my water. I was preeclampsia with EXTREMLY high blood pressure and given magnesium and was hallucinating. I was on oxygen and told they were worried about me having a stroke and put an internal heart monitor on babys head. At six pm I was told I had to get a epidoral bc I was not dialating, checked me alittle later and by around seven pm he I checked me again, never seen a doc again until after baby was born.the nurses were checking me and kept saying dr udo is busy...I with my high bp increasing was told to start pushing around 10 30 pm..I said wait I havent seen a doc in hours I cant push....nurse bambi said its ok start pushing she will be in soon. With my oxgen on no doc in room I started pushing under the direction of the nurse. The nurse said good job we will push again soon. The nurse then walked over to the sink … and by the time she turned around my baby was laying on the bed with probe in his head and plastic wrap from the trash on the bed stuck to his face. My family started screaming, the nurse turned around with a blank stare of o what do I do. My baby came out at 1035 pm with no doc in room he just came after a short push all on his own and if that end of the bed had been down he would have been on the ground. With my medical issues this should never have happened. My grandmother ran and got help and nurses came rushing in..my nurse just stood there looking as if what just happened. Still no dr udo...its 1040pm I havent seen a doc since around 7 and im told I could possibly have a stroke and I just delivered my baby by myself. Dr udo came in shortly after..she said NOT ONE WORD to me!!! She took my placenta out..stitched me and walked out...I kid u not..she didnt even look at me!!!!! A house doc came in shortly , and said...well I see you had a c section...I said no..he said well its written here that due to high bp your were to be prepared fornc section due to complications...s o basically I was have a csec never told never talked to...dr udo never spoke to me and appologized and thank God with all my medical issues my baby and I were fine. I was in hosp for two weeks bc I was sick and high bp went home with a home care nurse thats how bad off I was. Come to find out dr udo stitched me up wrong down there and to this day I still have issues with intercourse. Don't see DR UDO

PLEASE DONT SEE THESE DOCTORS!! I had them with my second baby. Always had to wait forever to see a Dr. Dr constanini was in the hospital when I went into labor and was patient with my long labor, but when Udo came to relieve her she said and I quote "well I'm gettin off and u'll have to deal with dr udo..or should I say dr downer"!! Not even an hour after she came into her shift she came into my room and threatened me! She said " if u don't agree to a c-section I'll be forced to call CPS"!!! (My baby and I were laboring fine) I had no one to stand up for me. I told her to go away, then she came back with Dr constanini and they double teamed me till I gave into the section. These are horrible doctors! Find a midwife, have a home birth, anything just don't see these doctors.

Failed to give rhogam after miscarriage. Very difficult to get appt in timely manner.
