Dr. Jagga Rao Alluri, MD

He is an excellent Doctor. I was extremely pleased with his attention to detail and approach.. I would highly recommend this Doctor.

On my first visit to this office, Dr Alluri seemed very aloof and distant from the first time I met him. In fact, when I extended my hand to greet him, he would grab hold of your hand but then simultaneously turn his head away as if to avoid making eye contact. I found this gesture to be highly offensive but overlooked it as a “one time thing”. I simply brushed it off as a moment of temporary distraction or perhaps he had something weighing heavy on his mind during the course of a busy day. No big deal. When I departed, he extended his hand towards me but then to my dismay proceeded to do the same head turning again thing again. So this time, I said nothing but just as I was leaving the room, I turned around and extended my hand again just see if this was a recurring pattern. He seem shocked that I would want to shake his hand again but actually made eye contact. I was told I would he would need to submit my case for approval from the insurance company and to come back in 2 weeks… and the approval should be in by then. In on my second and last visit, he extended his hand to greet me and then did the same head turning thing yet again except that he did it before I could even grab his hand so this time, I left him hanging in the air. He then turned to me as if in disbelief that I would not shake his hand and since we were in a private room and it was just me and him, I told him why: I told him I would not shake his hand in that disrespectful manner. I told him you did this two other times and when you shake a patients ( especially a new patient) hand and you don’t make eye contact in that moment, you are are essentially being dismissive and not acknowledging the patient in your greeting and I find that offensive and totally rude. He must of misunderstood me and said I have Jewish people that won’t shake my hand so it’s ok if you don’t want to do it. I told him this is not about religion it’s about the common decency to acknowledge your patients presence with eye contact and not make them feel like a number or dollar sign a conveyor belt. He then apologized and we smoothed things over and any hard feelings and proceeded with the visit. He told me the insurance still did not get back to him so I will need to schedule to come back yet another time. So why didn’t you tell me that before making me waste another trip here for nothing? I suppose he felt guilty and instructed his staff to do it right away and maybe they can have the approval within the next 10 minutes or so. The result of that effort was negative and he told me to come back in a couple more weeks. I then then extended my hand to say goodbye and guess what folks? Yes, you guessed it —- He did it the head turn thing again except this time he waited for me to grab his hand. I suppose he was sending me a message. This time we were out in the waiting area in front of his staff and other patients. Having enough kindness and compassion in my heart to not make a scene and embarrass him in front of his other patients and staff, I then decided to just smile, be polite, courteous and take the high road like a true gentleman. So I simply said “see ya at the next visit doctor”. Of course all you guys reading this post know full well that there isn’t going to be a next visit with this incredibly arrogant, dismissive and rude doctor but there will be this post.

Excellent doctor. Very compassionate.

Dr. Alluri is thorough, kind and caring. His office staff seems overwhelmed by the patient volume; I was on hold twice for 10 minutes trying to make an appointment. They are, however, courteous and pleasant.
