Dr. James Martin Richards, MD

Dr. Richards saw both my daughter and myself for the flu earlier this year and then afterwards for my daughter who had a upper respitory infection. He was great. Very funny, great bedside manner and very easy to talk to. I would highly recommend him. It was an urgent care clinic so they don't really do follow up so I gave him average rating on that. Otherwise, I would go see him again for sure.

to begin with, his receptionist (Patty)is rude, short and abrasive. when i initially called to find out if he was taking new patients, she asked me if i was sure i wanted to see dr. richards, or if i'd rather see the other dr. in his office. i went to see dr. richards anyway. he is nice, funny and openly states "he does not need to work" according to his accountant, two years into his practice. i now know, he probably DOESN'T WANT to work, as evidenced by my most recent experience. i had a pulled muscle in my back. took off work and called his office shortly after 9a.m. i did not receive a call back until close to 6p.m. at which time he told me i should be seen by him or urgent care. the next day, i went into the office, only to be told he wasn't working that day. i asked patty to call him and find out why he said i should come in if he wasn't going to be there. she called him and relayed his message that he doesn't remember telling me that and maybe i could come back tomorrow. i said… no, i'm not taking off work 3 days in a row. furthermore, my initial visit with him urinalysis showed trace signs of a bladder infection and he did nothing. went to urgent care today, they told me my back problem could be related to bladder problem which may now be affecting my kidneys! i was given antibiotics. dr. richards dropped the ball on that one. it seems he not only forgets appointments he makes with you the night before, but he also forgets to prescribe medicine that could prevent further sickness or worsening of an ailment. visit this office at your own peril.
