Dr. Janette Nagpala Zara, MD

During my stay at UCLA, I encountered Dr. Janette Zara who thus far has been the rudest doctor I've ever met. Anyone looking to go to UCLA for their care, steer away from this lady. This lady did not once say hello when entering the room. Her eye contact was there only when she scolded me saying "Are you the doctor? I am the physician here. I have the degree for a reason" . Instead of including me and my thoughts in my own plan of care, she humiliated and belittled me. I also observed her being rude to other staff members. Her tone shows lack of dignity and respect towards others. She must take pride in shaming others as I don't understand why one would otherwise have such a poor temperament. I will be looking into having my future care at Cedars. I do not understand how UCLA hires people with this type of personality. UCLA really needs to screen their staff better prior to hiring.

During my stay at UCLA, I encountered Dr. Janette Zara who instead of including me and my thoughts in my plan of care, she basically scolded me and told me she was "the physician" and had a medical degree for a reason. I also witnessed her talking down and being extremely rude to other staff members. This is unfortunate as I use to take pride in going to the "best" hospital where they are suppose to treat patients and each other with kindness and respect. I really hope this is just one out of hundreds of doctors at UCLA who is like this, otherwise I'll be moving my care to Cedars.
