Dr. John Gilbert Moe, MD

I met Dr. Moe in 2006 when I was to have my 1st of many surgeries by the surgeons at Kerlan Jobe. I have found him to be to most caring, unhurried, knowledgeable, and prepared physician that I have ever met. He is the guy I will always trust to me waking up after general anesthesia. If I am to have more surgeries in the future, I will insist that Dr Moe does my pre-op physical. Dr Moe’s wife, who works the front office, goes the extra step to make sure the patient is cared for. I have been seeing Dr. John Moe since 1998. He is one of the most amazing gifts that God has given me. I am so thankful to be under his care. I was originally introduced to Dr. Moe from Dr. Steve Lombardo the Lakers Orthopedist and family friend. John Moe cares for his patients and goes beyond basic requirements to provide excellent health care. There has been numerous times when he said, I was researching your file over the weekend and I found out X that might apply to you. How many doctors use there free time to provide better care. Especially ones that have credentials like Lakers, Sparks and Kings Team Internist and Ex-President of Centinela Hospital. Dr. John Moe is like the doctor from the movie "As good as it gets'... You and your love ones would be hard presses to find anyone with more talent and Rolodex of medical referrals that can provide a solution for your General Medical needs.

Dr. Moe is the most thorough doctor I have ever seen. He spends time getting to know everything about your health and anything that impacts it. He goes over your record every time he sees you. He explains things, answers your questions, and goes into detail at a level you can understand. Dr. Moe personally calls with test results, even when things are within a normal range. His assistant, Susie, is a gem. She is funny, kind, witty and knows what she is doing. I have had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Moe and his office staff. Also, one thing I really appreciate, they do not over book. They expect you to be prompt and they in turn are the same.

Dr. Moe has now done two pre surgical physicals for me. I was sent to him by my surgeon as my doctor does not work with workers comp cases. He takes lots of time and is very thorough and I am seriously thinking of changing to him as my personal physician.

I have been a patient with Dr. Moe for almost 15 years now and I have to say he has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. I read a review that said he had been rude, prompting me to not stay quiet. I find it hard to believe that was the same man I know. Dr. Moe is kind and brilliant. He always goes beyond what a normal doctor would do. If you need a good doctor, he is the best. I not only would recommend him, but I would scream on a mountain that he is the best doctor in Los Angeles and possibly the entire nation.

Dr. Moe is an extremely thorough, thoughtful and respectful physician! He always obtains a detailed history and will review at each visit to be certain issues are resolved and will refer to specialists and follow up with them. He is smart and easily accessible! So fortunate to have been referred to him as my primary physician.....HE CARES!

I was referred to Dr. Moe for my pre-op surgery. He was very thorough and answered all my questions. He came to see me while I was in the hospital after surgery. I had a non surgical question for him after I returned home and was connected to him immediately.He was able to put my mind at ease. He has an extremely caring manner and a bit of a dry sense of humor which I liked.

Yes, indeed, he is fantastic. I will echo all of the positives previously stated, including my willingness to drive from Stevenson Ranch to Inglewood (45 miles and up to 2 hours depending on traffic).As far as his bedside manner is concerned, I can say that I have never seen a more attentive doctor and he never condescends. However, he is a brilliant man and (as most of us are prone to doing) sees others through his own filter and assumes most of us are intelligent enough to understand him. He treats his patients with the same respect befitting another intelligent being. And he takes all of his own notes so for anyone reading these reviews, I think we can safely put to rest the single unflattering review. Thank you Dr. Moe and staff!

I accidentally stumbled on this page and saw the other comment someone wrote about Dr. Moe being rude. I just felt it was very unfair and I had to write something about Dr. Moe. I cannot imagine Dr. Moe being capable of being rude to his patients. I have been seeing him for many years. Prior to that, I have been changing from one doctor to another, generally very disappointed by most of them - short short visits (< 10 minutes) but long long wait (> 30 minutes) and not caring attitudes. I went to see Dr. Moe who was referred by a good friend. I could not believe how much time he spent with me each time I saw him. He is so nice, willing to listen to any mundane complains I make. Each year on my physical, he took such long notes on various things I said. Not only that, he goes back to the notes he took in the past years and makes sure that old issues are not coming back. He spent so much time on my physical each year that I always felt bad when I saw how much he got paid by the… insurance for my visit. I even said once to his nurse Susan that Dr. Moe is losing money on my visits. I referred him to all my friends who live or work near by, even convinced my husband to drive 45 minutes just to see Dr. Moe because he stopped seeing doctors for his annual checkups after having a hard time finding a doctor he considered caring. The wait in Dr. Moe's office is 5 minutes in general. I told my husband that his 45 minutes drive to see Dr. Moe probably would be shorter than the time he would have spent waiting in other doctors' offices close by. My friends also referred other friends and family members too, and we are all very happy about Dr. Moe. We are always exchanging our notes and fun stories about Dr. Moe among our friends. Every time when we hear someone complaining about their doctors, we always say "go see Dr. Moe". I could go on and on about many more nice things about Dr. Moe. But I hope you got a good idea from what I wrote already. I really wish there were more doctors out there like Dr. Moe, wanting to help patients not for the financial gain.I have moved away from my previous working location, so it is taking me quite some drive to see Dr. Moe. But I keep Dr. Moe still as my primary care physician. I have never been able to find another doctor like him.
