Dr. Joseph F. Rizzo

Dr. Rizzo is always very patient and very thorough -- takes the time to explain conditions, procedures, etc. I have complete confidence in his abilities and judgment.

Dr Rizzo was able to provide the information I needed on my diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. His conduct was abhorrent. His interactions with me indicated that he believed I might be faking my symptoms and seeking disability. Do not see him: He does not listen, he cuts you off, he is misogynistic. He has a positive attitude about it all and he says the things he should say, but simultaneously indicates that your experience and voice are not valid

Relative of mine waited 4 months to see Dr. Rizzo. Has complex optic and eye issues. Drove an hour. He said, looking at his computer, “Use only ONE word to tell why you are here.” My relative was stunned as was her husband. The doctor didn’t make eye contact, was brusque, and sent her on her way assuring her she had a healthy optic nerve. She does not! Hi That’s why she was there, referred by her Opthalmologist. She has complex issues. Dr. Rizzo was a complete disappointment and waste of time!

My elderly father has received caring, conscientious care from Dr. Rizzo for many years. He has been promptly seen whenever there is the possibility of a flare up of a condition which can cause blindness, and has the necessary frequent appointments necessary to monitor his treatment of such flare ups. (My father lost his eyesight in one eye from a previous opthamologist's failure to diagnose and failure to refer him to a specialist on an emergency basis. ) Dr. Rizzo has excellent bedside manner. He relates well to my father who has some dementia, and always asks about the quality of his home life. He is considers the side effects of the medicines he prescribes.

I see many specialists. Only a few have made an impression on me that I won't forget. Dr. Rizzon is at the top of the list. He is a very caring doctor and is very determined to find out what the root cause of my illness is. I wish he could be my PCP because I know he would not stop until he covered all bases.
