If I could leave less than one star I would! This doctor spent nearly 4 hours doing a laproscopic cholecystectomy on my husband. There was minimal communication from the surgery room nurse. The last communication from her was that it was taking longer because it was more complicated, but was still being done laproscopic. I was in the waiting room from 4pm until 9pm. I finally received a call aroun 8 that he was in recovery and someone would be down "shortly" to talk to me. At 9pm and I was the last person in the surgical waiting room and had to call the recovery room back to find out why no one had come down to tell me how my husband was and why his gallbladder surgery had taken so long. I was told the surgeon, Dr. Parikh, had left to go home and they would find someone to send down to talk to me. One of her partners finally came down and told me how terribly infected his gallbladder was and that it was necrotic and gangreous and that was why it took so long. We NEVER saw Dr Parikh… again, although people from "the surgical team" came by. One doctor that said he assisted in the surgery, told us they had to "chisel his gallbladder off his liver". He also had a large unexplained bruise on his side that extended down to his buttocks. My husband ended up spending a month in the hospital and having to receive 2 units of blood and a drain put in his liver. He is still dealing with bilirubin issues due to the bile duct being blocked by stones and gravel. All of this from a doctor that came in pre-op and told us, she did not think his gallbladder was the problem! I can say nothing good about this doctor and I would discourage anyone from taking a chance with her.
