Dr. Kelly Louise Minor, PhD

I was in a situation of abuse and Kelly told me not to leave (mostly because she said I needed the financial support, though she also seemed to suggest that it would be good for me to learn to "adapt" to the situation). Her advice could not have been worse, and led to lasting damage, including a diagnosis of PTSD symptoms from a subsequent therapist. I have gathered since that therapists are supposed to help you figure out the best decisions for you, rather than telling you what to do; that she told me what to do is a separate problem in its own right. Overall, Kelly ignored or minimized the concerns I raised about very obviously disturbing behavior to which I was being subjected. She also ran very late for every session, and acted as though there were something odd about me when I mentioned it. In our sessions, she talked a lot about her own background and issues, and at the end of every session, hugged me, in spite of the fact that it always made me uncomfortable and violates… standards of behavior for her profession. My overall situation and wellbeing deteriorated under her care, and improved when I started seeing someone else. I am concerned about her influence on vulnerable people in situations of danger.
