Excellent, very caring, and patient centered.

Dr. Carl is one of the most compassionate and sensitive doctors that I have come across in my many years of treatment for my mental health. So lucky to have found him!

I have never felt so betrayed and frantic as when I left this office. If he missed all the days of school where they taught about childhood trauma, anxiety disorder, and medications then he could at least try and fake a little compassion. I literally felt punched in the gut when he giggled and called my crippling OCD that started when I was six (from extreme abuse of every conceivable kind) a "superstition, like step on a crack break your mother's back" and then went on to tell me that my three choices for treatment were to stay on the exact same dose of Pristiq that my PC put me on six months before (that wasn't helping), to go up on the Pristiq (which I had already tried), or go down on the Pristiq. PRISTIQ is not a medication for OCD. The N part of it being an SNRI actually interferes with helping OCD. What kind of doctor tells someone their only option is to stay on a medication that hasn't worked in six months and isn't an OCD medication?? Google OCD medications for God's… sake. Bad enough a PC is treating people inappropriately, but how do you get through psychiatry school and don't know any of this? Not your specialty?? Don't care how you make people feel?? Then why did you even see me?? Wrote the guy a letter to explain why things he said were so hurtful (and ultimately damaging) and neither he nor his office manager/MD wife could be bothered responding. Maybe one day this doctor will realize he isn't more superior or smarter or better than anyone else, he just was luckier.....
