I had a total hysterectomy one week ago and have since developed a rash on both sides of my abdominal area. Though there was almost no foot traffic, it took over 30 minutes to be taken to an evaluation room for a visit that lasted almost 2 hours. When I finally saw the doctor, his questions were repeats of questions I had already answered for him and were accompanied by nonrelated comments about the accompanying bruising around the incisions. Remaining in the evaluation room for 20 minutes after the doctor left, I eventually decided to join my husband and found the doctor outside basically "googling" rashes. He diagnosed me with Folliculitis and provided me with a printout and a prescription for topical and oral antibiotics. Though not a medical professional, I could and have done as much as the doctor did.
