Dr. Malaika E Berkeley, MD

Dr. Berkeley has been nothing but wonderful to me and my mental health. She's always available for appointments and is particularly thoughtful about prescriptions-- their side effects, interactions with other medications, and starting at minimal dosages. Her office is centrally located in Midtown and easy to find parking, although I do agree the waiting room is small and you do have to pay for parking (although that's most dr offices in ATL).

I previously wrote a positive post the other day. Yesterday, I called late at night asking for help with the new medicine I received from Dr. Berkeley. My hands were both extremely swollen and I was scared. She called me back and told me I might need to think about a new practice because I call the on-call line too much. I have never felt so sad and disrespected. She then also asked me what I called about because she had not made it through the entire voicemail. Now I understand what the rest of the reviews about bedside manner and rudeness were about.

Great doctor with welcoming office staff. Willing to work around schedule. Listens and actually evaluates. Takes side effect concerts into consideration. She's also funny and kind. If you are looking for a well-rounded Psychiatrist look no further.

She’s very condescending and has no interest in genuinely working with people who don’t fit into a certain level of functioning. I wish she had made that clear from day one. She seemed to smile and smirk when I was visibly shaking and upset. I tried to be comfortable with her but after many weeks, it was not working.

I love her care, concerned, and bedside manner. Dr. Berkeley is more than compensate and is the only psychiatrist that was able to diagnose me properly and prescribe effective medications to treat my illnesses! I would recommend her to anyone needing psychiatric care :-)

Moved to Atlanta and made an appointment with Dr. Berkeley after seeing a doctor for ADHD for the past 4 years. Had a very awkward conversation with Dr. Berkeley as she is very robotic/rehearsed in her questions and responses, and after our chat, her treatment plan included fantastic medical advice such as "Googling coping mechanisms"...not joking. That's literally all I was provided out of the session. I was then billed 3 times as much as my previous doctor (pre-insurance) for this groundbreaking treatment. Honestly shocked at how poor the experience was.

Dr. Berkeley is superb, #1 and 2nd to None. She is patient, caring and always concerned. She provides the BEST care in her field! Thanks & Kudos to Dr. M. Berkeley for excellent services for over a decade.
