Dr. Mathew Alexander, MD

My husband was operated by dr Alexander oin Feb 2022, he was extremely agressive during several spine fusions after telling him he would only need to do 2! Since then he has been in more pain than before the surgery. He's had months of physical therapy, had to have a VP shunt inserted in his brain due to fluid buildup, and a defibulator due to the stress of his pain level. I would NOT recommend him for any surgery. Our Neurologist told us he is too aggressive with his surgeries. Get a second opinion and find another neurosurgeon, seriously. This has left my husband's quality of life to a null. He sleeps in a recliner, can't do normal activity without severe pain. DR Alexander took my husband life from him. Disgusting, he should be banned from surgery.

Dr. Alexander did a brain biopsy on me. He was straight forward that it would be malignant and it was. I was cured with chemo. He has a very pleasant bedside manner.

This is possibly the worst surgeon ever. He has a habit of over surgery if his patients. He has disabled my husband to make money on more extensive surgery. He fused his back from the SI All the way to the L-5. He went in with just the damage L-1. We have been to several surgeons that have said Alexander over surgeries him. He’s living in constant pain. None of the other surgeons can help now because they are afraid of paralyzing him. We waited too long to sue him because it’s a limit of two years. He had surgery in September 2021. But if we can save anyone the pain my husbands been experiencing the last two years we’d like to People need to know how bad a surgeon he is. He damaged all his nerves and didn’t put the natural curve back in. Now he has a chronic fracture in the disc above the fusion. They can’t fix it. Please let people know

Long wait times to be seen. Unnecessary extensive surgeries only to be worst than before surgery. Infections in the hospital in the incisions. Find another neuro surgeon! I am now not able to walk, I'm incontenent and brain damage. Please be sure and get another dr. He should be banned from surgery.

I just went in for my 18 month checkup. Before the surgery I could barley walk and now I am up to a mile a day. My sciatic nerve issues have not returned and the pain is at a level that I can treat it with over counter drugs. This is an awesome result. Great Surgeon, great staff. I would recommend Dr. Alexander to anyone who wants or needs results.

Because Dr. Alexander takes so much time with his patients, it's very likely that if your appointment is in the afternoon it could have you in the waiting room for a long time. If you have an appointment in the afternoon, rather than arrive at the scheduled time -- call the office at that time and check-in. Ask for a call about 30 minutes before you would be called in (assuming it takes about 30 minutes to get to the office) and you'll get in with little wait. The last time I had an appointment I just finished updating the paperwork and was called. All that said, Dr Alexander is a really great surgeon and really cares about his patients. His staff cares too. Just expect that he'll be running behind on his schedule.

I had been in pain for over 7 years and had tried a few different pain specialists and nothing ever helped. From pain meds to injections, everything I tried was only temporary. I had not slept on my bed in the past two years because my pain was so excruciating I had to sleep on my recliner. My lower back pain had become so extreme that it affected my everyday life. Dr. Alexander has changed my life forever! He had been referred to me by a family member and was warned about the wait time but I have to say that I would wait 24 hrs in an office if I had to, to rid of the pain I had been enduring for so many years. He is caring and takes the time to explain and answer questions in detail and makes sure you understand. After my surgery, he and his staff were very helpful when I had any concerns. I highly recommend him and I am so thankful and appreciative to him and his staff for giving me my life back to finish enjoying with my family. MM

Dr. Alexander has performed kyphoplasty surgery(surgery used to treat spinal compression fractures due to osteoporosis) on my 92 year old sister. The fractures cause excruciating pain and you cannot move without feeling the pain. Dr. Alexander came to her rescue and alleviated her pain. He is caring and takes time showing and explaining to you what can be done to help you. And yes, you might have to wait in waiting area for some time to see him, but the wait is worth your time because you are going to get relieve. We highly recommend Dr. Alexander

The wait time is ridiculous! What’s the purpose of having an appointment? My mom had an apt and after waiting for 3 hours, I complained, they told me there were two other patients before her! About 30 minutes after I complained, the doctor finally came in. They need a new office system or manager. The next day, I called in to change the appointment time for our next visit, which will be next year, and I was told rudely that they didn’t have any other openings. I find it hard to believe that overnight they booked the doctor’s schedule for a whole year!! We were very disappointed with our visit wait time and with the person who schedules the appointments.

Great Doctor and staff. Any time spend in this office is well worth it. Got all my feeling back on my fingers and legs.
