Talented surgeon, saved my life

Dr. Macias is an excellent surgeon! She spends plenty of time with you, and very talented in the OR. I am a nurse and have seen many surgeons, she did my son's surgery and I would highly recommend!

Please, If you are considering having Dr. Melissa Macias operate on you, simply Google her name. The first thing to come up is not an article about how good she is at her profession. It's about how she is a three time drunk driving offender who failed to report her Wisconsin crimes to the Texas medical board. Please consider your other options.

Would like to hear how fix my husband's failed 4-vertebrae fusion. We've since learned there is more solid, and flexible (to address scoliosis she said at the time could not be fixed). She released him to go back to work, following complications, and wouldn't see him after that. We saw her, and surgery was done by her at Swedish American in Rockford, IL. She is no longer there. We'd like help with finding surgeon who can actually help my husband's issues appropriately, and in a professional manner. He is now classified as disabled. He used to be active. We were left with no options, and no returned calls. The total bill for surgery was $999,000. My husband is 43. Formerly trained in Navy, now largely bed / couch ridden.

No bedside manners and a DUI

I didn't realize she had an alcohol problem until after we saw her.

She performed surgery on my neck for cervical stenosis. It was a successful surgery. I feel she did an excellent job and I was in good hands

Dr. Macias is a superb neurosurgeon who clearly explains what your choices are. Her knowledge and surgical skills are exemplary. It would be hard to find a better neurosurgeon.

Dr. Mathias is unusually skilled and knowledgeable. She gives you plenty of her time and attention. She cares and is a superb surgeon. It will be very difficult to find a better one.

I cannot rate this surgeon highly enough! She was able to diagnose and treat my problem after other doctors had failed. Her compassion, skill, and expertise are of the highest level.
