Dr. Matthew Osmond Burrell, MD

I like Dr. Burrell and felt that he and his nurse were very thorough. My disappointment was caused by the difficulty of dealing with the office staff regarding records or anything other than scheduling a visit. Prior to my initial visit I was called by the nurse and asked every question on the new patient paperwork (this took an hour from my work day) despite the fact that I had printed out the documents and took the time to fill them out per their request. I faxed a large stack of records that never made it into my chart. What is crazy to me is that I had a problem with the fax confirmation on my end and I actually ended up faxing the stack three times! You would think at least one set would have made it into my chart! On my second visit, my ultrasound report was not in my chart even though I had been given the results by phone months prior. The last straw for me was when I had to have the Emory Breast Imaging Center send my mammogram report to them three times. I needed additional… imaging and this delay caused me to wait three days to schedule it. Then I went through a very similar routine getting reports from the following up imaging! Even more disappointing than all of this is the way the staff treated me on the phone and seemed unwilling to do much to help me. Fortunately, I do not need to see Dr. Burrell again, because I wouldn't go back. This office adds more stress to an already difficult situation.

He is kind to talk to but very rough during procedure

Dr Burrell is the most competent, genuinely concerned, understanding, helpful, medical doctor I have known since I first saw him in the 1990.s. We are lucky he is here in Atlanta.

He cares about his patients and he takes time to talk with them about tests,i recommend him to any that i know and who has cancer i tell them he is the best doctor.i dont know what i would have if it wasnt for his advice he has always has puts his patients first.i have had cancer for 15 years off and on and there is no one i would rather treat me than dr.burrell .his staff is courteous always accurate on follow up appointments.so if you need a great dr.he is the one to contact.

Dr. Burrell spends as much time with each patient as she needs. He will answer every question with a balance of reality and compassion. As an oncologist, his most important patient is the one he's with at the moment and every patient receives the same courtesy. Does this mean some appointments are a little late? Absolutely. But when I'm in the room, it's nice to know I have his full, undivided attention. Dr. Burrell isn't running an assembly line; he's creating an environment for healing.

Dr Burrell is an excellent physician, a skilled surgeon, and a kind and caring man. You will not find a better choice for a gynocolic oncologist than Dr Burrell. I have known Dr Burrell for 18 years and have found his kindness and attention to detail never waivers.
