I had the HALO procedure on a Friday. I have had other procedures, and comparatively this was quite comfortable. I actually wore tinted sunscreen the day after, and was able to attend an event without unwanted stares. My skin then felt a little like sandpaper for a few days, but I was back at work with makeup on Monday. Within five days, the dead skin sloughed off and I was left with smooth skin that was more radiant. I received several comments about my glowing complexion.

I tried to get him to tell me what more I should have done and he said everything else was fine. He could easily have talked me into doing more but he is an honest, incredibly caring doctor. And the procedure was exactly as he said and there were no surprises and it went perfect.

The stress and uncertainty associated with finding out you have cancer on your face is more than enough to stress you to the max! Then you go to see Dr Kienstra... He and his staff explain and discuss options and your fears lessen because you have a reassured sense things will turn out great. Dr. Kienstra is a very learned and talented facial plastic surgeon with a jovial but sincere and caring bedside manner I wasn't expecting. He and all his staff are calm and reassuring, they give you their very best effort along with practical ideas on everything from caring for your wound to managing pain, and lessening swelling. One year post-surgery for me and I am amazed at how a once gaping hole on the side of my nose due to the MOHS surgery to remove the cancer is now totally healed and 98 percent undetectable. At age 68 I wear sunscreen, tinted moisturizer, eye make-up and that is it...no awful scars to camaflouge!

I was incredibly self conscious of my chin-no matter how hard I worked out or how much I dieted, it would not go away. After a lot of thought and discussion, I finally decided to do something about it. And I could not have asked for a better experience. Everyone in the office was incredibly kind and welcoming. They made me feel comfortable and informed throughout the whole process. The results I got are incredible and I feel a million times better about myself. I am thrilled with this experience and would not have changed a thing.

I was referred by another doctor concerning growth of lashes on my right eye. Since an eyelid lift was not recommended, Dr. Kienstra suggested alternative correction. I decided to have the neck addressed at the same time. I remember telling Dr. Kienstra that I did not expect a miracle, but now know that he did in fact perform one. My eyelid is much better and my outlook has improved greatly. The surgery was age appropriate and I am very pleased.

The secretaries have NO time for the poor......You will get ignored, lied to, and NO response. Their job is to look pretty, and collect money.
