Dr. Chioffe is truly one of the best doctors I have ever met. From my very first appointment, he has shown an incredible level of kindness, empathy, and expertise. He takes the time to listen and genuinely cares about his patients—not just as cases, but as people. I’ve been through multiple surgeries and have seen many specialists, but Dr. Chioffe stands out because of his ability to combine deep medical knowledge with true compassion. He explains everything thoroughly, making sure I feel informed and comfortable with my treatment plan. No question is too small, and he never rushes through an appointment. His surgical skill speaks for itself, but beyond that, he has given me confidence and hope in my recovery. I trust him completely with my care, which is something I don’t say lightly. Spent less than one minute with me in my appointment. Didn't take any time to get to know me/my history, hear my symptoms etc. Clearly fatphobic, made some pretty crass comments about how I should exercise, but he didn't take any time to get to know me my exercise habits etc (I am very active and have had chronic pain for over 7 years). I really felt like he just saw I was overweight and decided that that's what my problem was rather than actually listening and evaluating as a doctor should. Not the type of doctor I was looking for to help manage my pain.

I had spinal stenosis with other complications. Dr. Chioffe explained his plan and gave time to answer questions. In the end, I had a Laminectomy with a spinal fusion. Dr. Chioffe and the Illinois Masonic team did a great job with describing the prep needed, check in at the hospital and recovery. My original pain symptoms are gone and at 4 weeks I was walking over a mile a day with out pain killers. I continue to improve. I highly recommend.
