Dr. Michael James Goebel, MD

Dr Goebel is a very fine physician and I had a good visit with him. My current condition is extremely difficult to diagnose, so he ordered an MRI. I received a phone call from the office to set a follow up appointment after the MRI, which I very much appreciated. Good man, good patient care.

I left this appointment feeling very dismissed and unheard. I tried to explain my situation and the physical demands of my job as a CNA, but I felt that the doctor was not interested in listening or understanding what my work actually involves. I specifically explained that giving showers as a CNA is not simply “light duty.” It can involve prolonged standing, bending, lifting, assisting and supporting patients, pushing equipment, and other physically demanding tasks. I attempted to explain these responsibilities, but I did not feel that my concerns were taken seriously. I also asked about a work note allowing me to temporarily reduce my workday from 8 hours to 6 hours. I had a workers' compensation nurse present who advocated on my behalf and explained why the reduced hours were important. Only after the nurse spoke up did the doctor finally agree to the 6-hour workday. I felt my limitations and concerns were not taken seriously. I understand that a physician may not always agree… with a patient's request, but I believe patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and treated with compassion. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with this provider. The lack of empathy, willingness to listen, and understanding of the physical demands of my job made this a very frustrating and disappointing experience.

During my most recent visit, I did not have a positive experience with the surgeon. I felt that my concerns were not fully heard or acknowledged. I came in with significant ongoing pain, and instead of feeling supported or taken seriously, I left feeling dismissed and discouraged. As a patient with a complex history and multiple prior procedures, I expected a more thorough evaluation and a willingness to listen. Good patient care involves not only clinical expertise but also compassion and communication. Unfortunately, this visit lacked both. I did not feel confident that my symptoms were being properly considered, and that has led me to seek a second opinion elsewhere. I truly value the care I have received in the past from this practice, which is why this experience stands out so negatively. I hope this feedback is taken constructively so that future patients feel heard, respected, and appropriately cared for.

Dr. Goble was very professional, explained alternative situations administered a targeted Cortizone injection for my spinal stenosis. Hopefully we’ll have good results. High praise for Dr. Global.

Dr Goebel was the surgeon who did my discectomy. He did an amazing job. I went to him in so much pain and he quickly analyzed the issues and got me into surgery. Best thing I could have done. That was 5 years ago. I recently went to him for shoulder pain and he was very thorough once again. Highly recommend!

Dr. Goebel is a great doctor, knowledgeable, spends a good amount of time with patients, and truly listens to his patients. I am positive that Dr. Goebel will solve my health issue.

As a proactive patient, it is important to have a Doctor who is not only professional, but accessible. He listened with complete focus, taking in my information so he could plan an avenue of steps toward diagnosis. After x-rays, Dr. Goebel then explained what presented in my spinal x-rays in a manner of which both my husband and I could easily understand. The next step is an MRI for me. I feel confident that I am in the right office, with the right doctor. By the way, my wait to see Doctor was quite reasonable.
